I haven't had my period for about two months or so..and I've been showing all the signs for having my period ( cramps, pmsing, extra discharge..the usual ) so I started wearing my pads..but it hasn't come for a while..like the signs have stopped for a week? Is this normal?

Seeings you are 13, it is normal. I first got mine back when I was 11 and I got it once and didn't for another 3 months. It kept doing that for a while but I'd still get cramps. Finally my cycle became regular. Just give it time, no need to worry right now.

I didn't know what category to put this is... but what are your opinions on tall girls.. I am 13 and 5"8" do u think thats weird cuz im starting to feel self consious but every1 is sayin its good cuz i can be a model.. any thought? think boys will like me or be intimdated?

You're only 13 so I assume you're in Middle school or 9th grade. Guys your age, most of them are probably shorter than you right now. They might be itimidated right now, but they will shoot up in growth pretty soon. Plus, you're only 13. Don't worry too much over guys right now. It's not bad. Being tall is a good thing. You can play good sports, get a scholarship even. Nothing wrong with it. Be proud. Yes, you could be a model. Your height could get you somewhere awesome in life. Don't sweat it, embrace it. I'm 13 and only 5 feet and wish I was taller. You're lucky, lol.

to make a long story very short, a guy named mike has liked me since 7th grade...and i was never interested, persay, now, i like him, and i know he likes me, but hes so shy! everygirl hes dated or liked he never made a move on. tomoro well both be at this haloween party- the parents wont be home and i really want him to open up to me.. talk to me... and if i need to make a move, i will... how do i make a move ona guy? and how can i make him open up and talk to me?

Bring up topics about his life. Ask him "how are you, everything in life good". Bring up subjects you know will interest him and he will want to talk about. To make a move on a guy.. Eh, I'd say try and hold his hand?! That is what I'd do. Girls aren't known to make the moves and I personally don't. I say hold his hand. :)

Does it look okay to leave part of your hair down and the front half pulled back in a bun?

Yeah, I've done that before. It looks really cute so try it and good luck. It's easy to do.

UGH!! everyday before cheerleadin i always put on loads of deorderant on!! and i put perfume on...but my stunt group is always complaining about someone having B.O.! and i think they are all saying its me!! but i dan never smell anything when they say it smells...and i dont get how it could be me cuz i wear sooo much deoderant and sweet pea perfume. UGH!! its getting soo aggravating....does anyone know of any really good deorderant!!??? and fast!!??

Get secret perfume. I use that now cause I felt like I was always smelling in gym. I got Secret perfume and it's good stuff. Try not get a perfume that blends well with the smell of you deoderant. I'm sure it isn't you that smells anyways. :)

What age would you let your Child date?? What would you allow them to do with Him or Her?

Well I as a kid would like to date and go places with my boyfriend but parents don't like that so I would say when they are 13 and 14 they need to go on dates in groups. With more than one couple and just hang out. Or if one of them has a older sibling they could take them somewhere and supervise instead of the parent having to go and be embarassing. At ages 13 and 14 I'd say they could hold hands and hug and a kiss every now and then but nothing too serious. No sexual interactions with each other such as sex. For serious dating I'd say 16, 15 minimum. At that age they can handle dating alone without a parent. I wouldn't want my child having sex but if they wanted to, I'd ask them to come to me first and such. So that is what i say about it.

Are you male or female? Considering gay is a sexual terminology for men I'll assume you're male. My friend had this problem. His voice hadn't changed and he didn't have a girlfriend. If you're female well people assuming that are pretty stupid. Try getting a girlfriend if you're a guy and if you're a girl try getting a boyfriend or flirt with a friend of yours of the opposite sex. Show people you aren't gay but I wouldn't worry about it too much. Who cares what they think, They'll learn one day it isn't true.

ok my boyfriend will leave me messages and at the end of them hell tell me he loves me...and then when i call him back or watever or in person he wont say it....like i wrote i love u on his hand one day cuz we wer messin around and he just smiled....im so confused why wont he say it to me in person or on the fone but hell say it in messages?

I am quite sure he is probably nervous. Thue phone is so easy to say I love you on, especially on a message. I've been there and done that. Talk to him and ask him why. He is probably just scared to. Saying it in person takes guts, no matter how much you love him. If you love him, try saying it first, and see if he says it back!

My last boyfriend and I used to call each other *all* the time. I really like my current boyfriend but I'm way to shy to call him! I'm always scared he'll be busy or something and that I will look stupid.

Sweetie, he is your boyfriend. You should be calling him. You aren't going to look stupid. If he is busy well that's okay, just call again later. Try not to be so shy. I'm sure he wants you to call. Maybe he is shy too. Call and see what happens.

Yeah, I am 13 also and I have been there done that. You can't really control who you like. If you like him then you must not hate him but so much, right? If you think he likes you, ask him. Maybe you could have something together. Best friends, friends, boyfriend, girlfriend. You never know. If you have these feelings for him then you got to do something about them. Find out if there is anything between you guys. If there isn't, well then just be friends. :)

Why do you delete all of the ratings that are lower than a 5? Do you think people will ask you more questions if they see your average is a 5? Do you think you somehow look like one of the best columnists now that you've deleted all but 5's? Is this to boost your self-esteem? Do you see this site as a place to have a contest instead of trying to help people? Or what?

I don't, and I never have. I used to on my old column but I never have on this one. I only deleted one question and it was because I was arguing with someone in it and I decided it wasn't necessary for me to prove myself to them and stuff so I deleted it, so get to know me next time you send a message like that, thanks. xo`kristen

ok ..im 14/f and one of my best friends is 14/m..he doesnt go to my school...although lives in the district and i seem him here and there...hes been askin me how to ask a girl out..and i kept telling him to be himself..he just wont listen to me on that part advice...

he kepts telling me to put myself in that position..
- i said "no"
- he said "well its not hard 4 u ur a girl"
- i said "its hard 4 us as well..bc we have to turn down guys we dont like"..

i dk how to tell just to be himself..bc he doesnt want to listen to listen when he knows its true...

and he a few days ago he asked me "how do i ask a girl out and not get turned down??"..and im like idk its not something predictable...

I'm not sure exactly what you are hinting at for help here. Anyways, tell him that you like him straight out so he gets the point. And just be like yeah if you asked me out I'd probably say yes since I like you so much. That's the best thing

Well the title of this says "being gay". Are you gay? Well no matter if you are or if you aren't.. You should be very proud of who you are. God made you the way you are for a reason. Don't let anyone else tell you that you shouldn't be proud of who you are. Stand proud to just be you. :)

I am on the orthro evra patch and i think im pregnant because my stomach has been hurting lately and i pee alot. im not sure this is what it really is it may be symptoms of the patch or it may be because i dont drink water. Can you help me?

Well, it could just be from the patch. Like those little side affects they don't tell you about. Have you skipped your period?! If you have or even if you haven't perhaps you should go get a pregnancy test asap. If it says you aren't pregnant then you should really see your doctor about it.

Hey.. i've been tryin to get my mom to let me get my tongue pierced for my 16th bday n shes said no.. but she said no becuz she thinks its nasty lookin n i juss wanted to kno if you could give me sum points as how i could get her to change her mind! Thanks

Well, first of all, thanks for asking me, lol. Anyways, explain to her that it isn't nasty. The toungue peircing is a very un-noiticeable pericing. You can't really tell people have it unless you show them. Plus, the procedure is very simple quikc and not very painful. Just explain to your mom that when you talk and such she can't really see it so it will be like it's not even there! And I think you should note to her you'll be 16 and old enough to handle such a thing and that it is your body and you should be able to do what you want to. Because, in this case, 16 is a very understandable age! I myself am getting my done when I am 16. :) Also, try showing her how much you deserve it. 16 is a awesome age and what better way to celebrate :) If it helps, look up information online about it to show her it's not nasty and stuff. :) Hope I helped

how often should u dye ur roots if u dye ur hair like blonde and ur hair is naturally black:?

I can see why you died your hair blonde, haha. Just jokin. Whenever your roots start showing to the point it looks crappy. Black roots look really bad with blonde hair, so I would avoid them. You could try putting that spray in your hair they call "sun" to keep your roots light colored until you decide to just dye it again. And do not dye it too much, you're hair will get dry and feel like straw. So if you dye it, wait a month or a little over before dying it again.

I'm not a guy, but almost every guy I have ever dated told me if I did it, they would break up with me. They said it is nasty and repulsive. So from experience, I'd say guys see it as a turn off.

You said you have been through divorce so mayb you can help me! I'm 13/f if that helps. Well my mom and dad didn't really love eachother anymore..but they have 2 kids (me and my brother who is 16) and they didnt want to divorce cuz of us. My dad started goin online, postin his pix and talkin to girls, and he found this girl who lives in the same state as us. They met twice and then he decided to move in with her!!! One night when we were all sleepin, he packed all the stuff he needed and she picked him up! He wrote this long letter to us and he left it on the coffee table. He wont let us visit him but he says he's gonna call from time to time. I am sooo fuckin mad and shit! My dad said he's going to send $400 every month for child support I guess..and my mom agreed. My mom is actin like nothing happened! Were not poor, but were not rich..and without my dad idk how were going to survive! My brother is gonna get a job, and when I turn 14 I'm gonna work too. But still..its just not fair! My mom works at f*ing Target and the Movie Theatres! My dad was the one with a real job and he paid all the bills. my mom worked just so she could pay for food, sports, etc. So without my dad its going to be hard. My brother and I are handling this pretty well. We quit our sports teams, and told my mom we didnt need allowance. I'm acting like everything is ok..but I just dont know how to deal with all of this. I havent seen my dad in a month, and I probably wont ever see him again. Sorry its so long. But I dont know what to do! Help meh! Thnx so much for readin!

Well, let me tell you. A similar thing happened with me. My mom and dad got to where they didn't exactly love each other in the in love sort of way. Mom met this guy at work and they started talking to each other. Dad didn't know for a while. And dad had a sickness that caused him to be mean. But then he got medicine and got better. Mom said she didn't want to stay cause dad was so mean. But he got medicine and wasn't like that anymore. So mom was talking to this guy. Dad and I worked for weeks doing all we could to get her to stay. We cleaned, cooked, bought her things. One day we bought her something and made her a card and that same day she left to live with that guy! All I could do was cry. She packed her things and left. She came back a couple times and finally got it all. She is now living with this guy and he is older than her which pissed me off. I know how you feel right now. I didn't talk to my mom for the longest time. And I haven't seen her in a month or two either. All this happened over the summer. We didn't think we had the money to live either. We had a lot of money problems for a long time. We had to give up some things. Be cheaper about food and such. Truth be told, you're dad abandoned you. He left, took all his things and everything. If you went to court he could get into a lot of trouble over this. And for two kids, he needs to be paying a lot more than $400. My mom is paying $300 for just me. You should be getting more, you need more considering the circumstances. I am sure your mom cares about the situation. She is just trying to be strong for you guys and that is good, so don't think she doesn't care about it. I know it sucks to move, but it's going to make your life as easy as possible until you can get back up on your feet with money and such. Just make the best of it. I know how much it hurts. You're mad at your dad, and you don't see how he could do this to you, right? I felt the same way. True, your brother should be able to have more of a life, but really it's a good thing until you guys get back on your feet with things. Just make sure he doesn't work too much. Watch out for him. I think you three should sit down as a family and talk. It's not going to solve your money problems but it is going to make you feel a heck of a lot better. Sit, talk, cry with each other. My dad and I sat and talked and cried with each other and felt better. We stayed strong and we are doing fine now. We can pay the bills now. We don't have a ton of money to spare, but life is good. I think your parents had problems and didn't try to do things about it. I'm sure your dad is going to regret what he's done and isn't going to have anywhere to go one day. But I don't know about that, I am just assuming. Perhaps your mom could get into contact with your father and see if there is any hope in him coming home. But to be honest, it would never be the same in your home. If you need a way to feel better, write poetry, draw pictures, read, listen to music, hang out with a friend to talk to about it. You and your brother and mother just need to be there for each other, stay strong and do everything you can to make it. Chaning schools isn't very fun, I know this. But truth be told considering everything, it'll be good for you. You won't have as many money problems. I know you might be thinking you don't know what you're talking about, it sucks.
