What it means is that the guy is using the girl for his own purposes and doesn't really love her. So she needs to hit the eject button on him and find someone else who will be more appreciative.

If he is ashamed of you then the relationship is going nowhere. There is no point in a relationship if it is kept secret. If he really loved you then he would not be afraid to tell his friends that he is dating you and he wouldn't care what they thought. If he can't do that then he either doesn't love you or he is not a real man.

If a guy is with a girl and ashamed of her then he shouldnt be with her in the first place. If he still sticks around the girl should leave him. She needs someone to be proud of her and want to show her off like she deserves!

Dump him
If someone cares about you then they wouldn't give a crap what other people think of you. They would be happy to be with YOU, Not ashamed. Your boyfriend is a jerk.

Then it's time to dump that loser because he obviously only cares about what he can get out of you. When a boy can't be seen with you when he's around his friends or family then he really doesn't care about your feelings or what you want. He may lie and tell you how much he cares but there's always a problem or some excuse as to why he can't bring you around. There's also the possibility that he has another girlfriend and doesn't want anyone else to know about it. There isn't much to think of someone in this situation. But, I would encourage the girl to get out. She deserves someone who is proud of her in every way. How dreadful to settle for someone who is embarassed to be with you? There are so many people out there, why waste your time with this?
