it depends..

It teaches you a good life lesson, like hard work pays off. It teaches you to do something with your life. It teaches you that you have to work for money, and can't just expect to get paid by being alive. It keeps you busy and out of trouble like gangs or drugs. It teaches you social skills like talking to new people and figuring out problem solving skills.

but at the same time it has its bad effects like it could be too time consuming and you might start failing school. You might get bored a lot and miss having free time to spend with friends. You might miss experiences like school dances or going out with friends.

So its kinda in the middle. It depends on how you feel. I personally think its a good idea as long as the kid doesn't start slipping in school and still gets involved with friends.

It depends on your definition of 'good'.

Personally, I think it's great to have a job throughout your teenage years. It will teach you the value of earning your own money and about the realities of work but it will also look good to future employers and demonstrate that you have a strong work ethic. When you finish school or college, you will be able to say to potential employers "look, I've been working since I was 13" and have references to back it up. This could put you at an advantage if the other candidate has never had a job before.

I got my first part time job in retail at 16 and I think it really helped me mature and take on new responsibilities. Many big companies prefer to only take on people with experience in their field. I'm at university now and competition for decent part-time jobs is big. I'm at an advantage because I have demonstrated that I am responsible and have been working for a few years already.

However, there are downsides. I did find it difficult balancing my schoolwork, job and social life, especially when it came to exam time. As most part-time jobs for teens require you to work at the weekends, it can be annoying not being able to go out and do what you want all the time.

At 13 there aren't a whole lot of jobs you can do. Family or small local businesses may be able to help you but bigger companies don't usually hire people under the age of 16. Your best bet is probably a paper round, babysitting or doing odd jobs (lawn mowing, car washing, even dog walking etc) for family friends and neighbours. Remember that any job is good experience and will be something you can put on your CV. When you reach an age where you can work for a bigger company, it will look good if you've done at least some work in the past.

personally i think your too young to have a job, its legal by the time your 16 however even at that age its not that easy to get a job..
I think you should speak to someone in your family dad or mum to see if they know anyone who has a buisness but honestly you shouldnt be stressing about a job at this age.

Theres gonna come a time and moment for you to want a job , because your actually gonna need it.
think about it ;)

More than likely, you won't be able to find a regular job, unless you have a family member that owns a business and can work on the weekends and after school. But having a job is a great start on learning all the little life skills that you need when you do grow up. You can try yard work, babysit, dog walk, clean peoples houses or anything else that you can do. I hope this helps and good luck.
