I smoke pot about two or three times a week.

I get really stressed out over my life and sometimes need something to relax. What I like about weed is that it slows down time so that it feels like I've been chilling out with my friends for much longer than I have been. I feel relaxed and okay...and I need to feel like that sometimes to cope with the drama with my friends. Self-medication. I have straight A's in school. I work 30 hours a week. I'm in several AP classes. And I work pot into my schedule because it helps me deal with it all.

I'd say smoke it. You're probably not going to get high your first time. You might not even like it. But really, as long as you're responsible with your use (eg: don't drive, don't use it too much, don't use it where you'll get caught) then there's basically no reason why you should hold back. If you want to, go for it. MODERATION is the key--the danger with pot isn't becoming addicted, it's becoming content. Some stress is healthy. Make sure you keep yourself active and motivated and have friends that you do more than smoke with. But, honestly, it will help you relax. And if you want to try it, do it. It'll keep you from binging on crack one day. :-P

Ask me if you have any questions about weed.

Don't smoke for anyone other than yourself or you'll regret it.
I suggest living without it because once you have it once... you're like ok its not that bad then you'll want to do it again and it wont seem as big of a deal.
sometimes it just adds to the stress... like hiding it from parents and other siblings, finding rides, getting money for it, buying it, when to smoke... really, it's more than just an action.
not your typical "don't smoke because you'll get addicted and die" sermon but i think it'll help you make the choice for yourself. <3

Short term effects include:
Problems with memory and learning, distorted perception (sights, sounds, time, touch), trouble with thinking and problem solving, loss of motor coordination, increased heart rate, and anxiety. These effects are even greater when other drugs are mixed with marijuana.A user may also experience dry mouth and throat.

Long term effects include:
Marijuana smoke contains some of the same cancer-causing compounds as tobacco, sometimes in higher concentrations.Studies show that someone who smokes five joints per week may be taking in as many cancer-causing chemicals as someone who smokes a full pack of cigarettes every day.

Now.. how will any of those relieve your stress?

all the people around you that are smoking weed are WRONG,theyre going to get themselves killed,if they all go jump off a building would you do that too??i don think so^_^ well to get rid of stress wha your trying to do is solve a big problem with an even BIGGER problem!weed is only gonna stress you out even more later on when you start hallucinating and drop outta skool and all your freinds leave you!To get rid of your stress...try telling someone what is it that is stressing you out. Then find different activities to do to get these stressy things outta your head.
good luck

ammo answered Wednesday October 17 2007, 12:49 am:
I'll be completely straight and honest with you because I will say this from experience...

Smoking it just because of stress will not solve anything. It will act like alcohol (which actually makes stress worse because alcohol is a depressant) and may help you forget it for a little while and mellow out but it will not solve the problem. After you come down from your little buzz the cause of the stress will still be there so I think a good way to deal with it would be to try face it and solve it. :)

As for smoking weed, I never had personally until I became curious (a few people very close to me did it and I became curious). That's pretty much the only time I had but I never used it as a means of escape from reality. I won't say do or don't becuase that's your own choice but I'd say if you can hold off on doing it (and your only reason for doing it is to deal with stress) then do hold off on doing it. It would only make you a stronger person for resisting the temptation.

Please don't smoke weed.

People say it's nothing that bad but later in life it really screws you up.

Also, the side effects are really bad. You basically change without knowing it. You'll lose heaps of friends and family and say stuff you'll regret. It's not like being drunk, and everyone has different side effects but you'll become a different person.

If you want to relieve stress just exercise. Even just a 20-40 minute walk a day will help, and it's good for you!
