drunk or no?

Question Posted Thursday August 16 2007, 9:57 pm

So i am 15 and i am going to my friend birthday party in 2 days. At the party there is not going to be alcohol or smoking or anything. But afterwards I am spending the night at her house with a whole bunch of people and there is gonna be drinking and smoking and i already know i don't want to smoke but I am iffy on the drinking. My friend told me I didn't have to but I would feel kind of left out so I kinda want to. Do you think its a bad idea? or should I enjoy my youth?

Don't drink. I've seen it really screw up people's lives. Our ages, too.
Just, don't do it.
It's totally not worth it.

Enjoy your youth!

But doesn't use alcohol.

Really it is your decision to drink or not. None of your friends or anyone on this site can decide for you. Yes, I said don't drink, but that is my opinon. You have your own. When making your decision keep these things in mind:

-underage drinking kills brain cells
-teens generally don't feel it when they start getting a little drunk, therefore, they drink more and end up totally wasted
-alcohol effects judgement
-if you do something really stupid your parents are bound to find out

So do you think you should do it?

Stick to your guns on the smoking. Starting smoking was a stupid thing to do and I wouldn't advise anyone to make the same mistake.

Sometimes it is hard when everyone else is doing something and you don't want to feel left out, but I think deep down you know that underage drinking isn't safe. Your friend has already told you that it's okay to say no if you want to and I'm sure that not everyone will be falling around drunk, if any.

Alcohol can be enjoyable if consumed safely and in moderation. If you do want to drink - although I don't advise you to do so just to 'fit in' with your friends - I suggest you set yourself a limit before you go out and stick to that limit. It's easy to get carried away but if you stick to one or two small drinks - not spirits - then you won't be dangerously drunk and putting yourself and others at risk.

Remember, you don't need alcohol to have a good time.

Ugh. This happens to me all the time. I am fifteen. And my friends are the same age. They're always drinking and getting high. But I am not into that stuff. So i don't do anything. But you do what you're most comfortable with. I know that if you don't do anything, you'll feel left out. But it's better than dieing at a young age. If you do want to br part of the "fun" just drink wisely and don't get too drunk. Cause I garantee you'll do something you regret. Hope I helped.

do what makes you feel comfortable. a lot of people respect people that don't drink and that fine. act crazy without drinking.
most kids that age cant get enough drinks to get everyone drunk so don't be too wild... they'll remember it.
if you "pretend" to drink... please don't act & say you're drunk & that you "forget" everything. it's annoying and no one respects those people.
if you are going to drink [i saw this because in your teens at some point you probably will] remember these rules:
-beer before liquor, never sicker. [don't drink beer before vodka, for example]
- don't do it excessively.. one or 2 drinks is usually fine. 5 or more you'll probably puking all night.
-if someone is realllllyy drunk and passes out or needs to sleep, have them sleep on their side in case they puke.
that's about it. don't drink if you don;t want to or goes against your values. it's not a great thing to do or the only way to have fun. <3

do whatever makes you comfortable. you wont be left out if you dont. but if you do want to drink but not get drunk mabye just get one cup/bottle/can or whatever it may be and drink it slowly and make it last through the night. mabye youll decide you want more later. its really up to you but dont let anyone pressure you into doing it if you dont want to. hope i helped.

Well theres a few things you could do:
1."blend in" and not drink but carry around a bottle of beer & pretend to drink it but your not really your just putting your lips on it & not drinking anything
2.not drink but still act crazy & talk a lot and have a ton of fun, and not be a drunk person who has to get up in the morning feeling aweful with a horrible head ache & really bad breathe
3.drink like one bottle but sip it like have a few sips every half hour or so, like watch what your doing.
if i were you id defidently chose number 2 but its your call haha. its a good thing your not smoking though but you really don't want to get drunk so if i were you i wouldn't drink at all, but still have fun & be crazy, plus if cops come for any stupid reason you'll be sober. :]
hope something helped or gave you the ideaa. good luck! :]]]

You should enjoy your youth when you're closer to 21. If you start drinking now then that'll lead to a whole bunch of problems, for example becoming an alcoholic. You might say "Oh I'll only have one drink, I'll be fine" Your 15, it sounds like you've never drank before, I doubt you could hold your liquor. A few drinks and you'll be drunk, drunk people can do pretty stupid things, like smoke, or have sex with people they barely know. And add in the health risks...date rape drugs... It's really not worth it. You'll have plenty of time to drink when you're nice and legal.

Read these before you decide to do something stupid.

I think its a bad idea. Period.

You sure as hell can enjoy your youth- but drinking isn't one of the ways that you should do it. There are plenty of other things to do rather than "be cool" and drink.

Alcohol has many NEGATIVE side effects. In fact- alcohol has ZERO positive effects.

[Link](Mouse over link to see full location)

There are also SERIOUS consequences for underage drinking. Here you will find some of those: [Link](Mouse over link to see full location)

Overall- drinking, no matter your age, is bad, though it is WORSE when you're in your youth.

Trust me, I have never smoked, drank, had sex or done any of the like- and I can honestly say I've had a fun life so far. Hang out with friends and see a movie. Make silly videos. Have a sleep over. Have a pizza party. Do something that doesn't involve alcohol- you'll have just as much- HECK! EVEN MORE fun than you would if you decided to drink and "be cool" or whatever the motivation to do stupid things these days is..

Make the right choice! =D

don't smoke because its addicting and will mess you up in your head and stuff. trust me. i know people who do.
but i wouldnt worry about drinking.
just remember!!!: Beer before liquor couldn't be sicker! liquor before beer, never fear.
and the reallly sugary drinks are the ones that will like make you throw up alot. ie, daquiries. even though they taste good.

have fun & don't get into too much trouble. =]
