beautiful, modeling

Question Posted Wednesday April 4 2007, 3:08 am

I came onto this site a few weeks ago asking a question about becoming a model and how you have to look.

But, what is beautiful? Someone on this site told me "If your not beautiful, then don't bother"

But what are the criteria for being beautiful?
..

The media seems to protray beauty as

Very skinny
Tall (at least 5ft 7in)
High Cheek bones
big lips
Small defined Nose
Long eye lashes
Nice skin (Even toned acne free)
Bright eyes
Full thick hair

To be a model, to put it bluntly beauty is this:

skinny preferably size 0, size 4 MAX.
some boobs nothing to large.
great bone structure (chin, jaw line, cheek bones, forehead)
good completion (i.e: no zits AT ALL)
good teeth
no huge thighs
no huge arms
no wrinkles
good hair, not thin.

i suggest you watch the show 'The Agency' on VH1. it's about the Wilahmina modeling agency and believe me, they are HARD CORE. it will show you first hand what the modeling beauty world is like.

there are three types of "beautiful". they all depend on the haircolor here

BLACK/BRUNETTE
---------------------------------------------
very long straight black/brown hair (color doesn't matter)
and oval face
big eyes with long eyelashes(color doesn't matter)
a delicate figure
clear white skin
red lips

that was one way
---------------------------------------------
BLOND
---------------------------------------------
curly or straight blond hair (normal length)
oval face
blue eyes
a sexy figure
big boobs
big ass
darker skin tone
horny
tall
---------------------------------------------
RED
---------------------------------------------
curly red hair
oval face
freckles
green eyes
normal /average figure
----------------------------------------------
well thats what a friend of mine told me once. and these were all three types.
now , i think a man would prefere

----------------------------------------
long hair
sexy figure
big eyes/long eyelashes
nomal sised boobs (depense)
normal ass
-----------------------------------------

maby this was a bit confusing , sorry

but you can also be beautiful on the inside. many people just don't know that!

hope i helped a little
good luck =)
.

aahhh sorry i said color doesn't matter here

very long straight black/brown hair (color doesn't matter)
and oval face
big eyes with long eyelashes(color doesn't matter)

just forget that

It depends on the type of modelling you plan on doing. If you want to do portraits/headshots/etc. you just need to have a pretty face. Clear skin, proportional features, straight white teeth.

If you want to do more of a runway kind of thing you need to be thin and unique looking.

LOOKS ARE SUBJECTIVE.BEAUTY IS IN THE EYE OF THE BEHOLDER.There is a theory that people are coustom made and their faces are made according to what they would want themselves to look like.Models just have to be thin. That is the only qualification you need.

You don't have to be beautiful to be a model..
there has to be something "different and catchy"...like kate moss she isnt PRETTY there is just something unique about her.And being beautiful is a matter of an opnion, you just have to have something different unique - like your eyes are quite big, or yout lips are a strange shape.

Some people say you DO have to pretty but you dont have to.

There isnt a criteria for being beautiful because we're all different and beauitful. It's all about opnions, one may say yeah your pretty an another...no she's not much to look at, so there isn't a criteria.

eclair answered Wednesday April 4 2007, 4:03 am:
Don't even bother reading those wikipedia sites offering an analysis of what is beautiful - it's utter bollocks. Because there are many, many successful models who are not conventionally beautiful, particularly runway models. In fact, if that '9.5-10 face' walked into a modelling agency right now she would struggle to get anything but cheap commercial jobs. Now, it's far more profitable to be interesting, and have flaws or quirks.
However, to achieve real modelling success you do still have to be thin, unfortunately. And tall. So if you're under 5'10", and weigh over 120lbs, your chances are pretty slim unfortunately.
Commercial modelling is much more forgiving though. Just go to an agency, they will let you know if you have a chance or not.

A summary of those articles(which you should read):
-clear skin
-"hourglass shape"
-symmetrical face(left side matches the right)
-skinny across your entire body
-youthful appearance

Take a look at [Link](Mouse over link to see full location)
You'll want to look like the 9.5-10 face.

I don't think there is a criteria for being beautiful. I believe everyone's beautiful in their own special way, and you don't need to be thin, or pretty to be beautiful. Don't believe the media or the hype. Don't believe magazines either. Imperfections are beauty.

And whoever told you that if you weren't beautiful not to bother should be banned because they contribute to self confidence issues. I think you're beautiful no matter what. Don't let anyone tell you different.
