So what if he watches spongebob? I'm 16, my brother's 21, and we watch The Backyardigans together. We also watch The Wonder Pets. Those are shows for little kids like toddlers & preschoolers & whatever. But there's nothing wrong with watching it. If he likes watching it, then let him. How would you like it if he told you that you should stop watching one of your favorite shows? You'd probably be pretty pissed, right? Exactly. So leave him alone, let him watch what he wants & mind your business. He's 15. I think he's old enough to make the decisions about what he watches on TV.

let him be.. if he enjoys watching that show, just let him. lets say you liked a "little kid" show..would you want people to stop making you watch it just because they think its childish?.. i felt so immature when i read this because i still watch kid shows like on Disney channel and stuff.. and if you think watching those shows if childish.. listen to this. my sister is 19 (turing 20 this Sept.) and i she loves Tellitubies(i dont think she watches them anymore, but she still loves them -lol!).. personally i think that show is retarded but i let her do w.e. she wants because she enjoys watching it.. she sits with her daughter (my niece) and watches BABY shows with her (like the Backyardigans- or something like that- how would i know?..lol) and i know that she enjoys watching them too... so yea.. you should just let him watch that if thats what he enjoys.. i actually think thats really cool that a 15 year old teenage boy doesnt care what people say about him watching kid shows..its who he is.. its cool that he's "in touch with his inner child!" tell him i said that.. no i.m just kidding around, but its really cool that he does that... and have you heard that "girls mature faster than boys?".. well maybe thats why he enjoys those shows and you dont.. but imma girl and i enjoy those shows!..lol...

Who cares? If he thought one of your shows that you liked was 'nerdy' would you want him to try to ban you from watching it?

Lol I know so many people that still watch kid shows. It's just entertainment.

Let it go :]

Um, this question made me feel incredibly stupid. :] I watch Spongebob. And Hannah Montana and all those "little kid" shows. I think Spongebob is amazing. Ha. Its pretty funny! Im not obsessed with it, but I watch it when its on and Im perfectly normal. I have friends and I have fun. I think we all have a little kid inside of us who just wants to watch Spongebob and drink apple juice. Trust me you'd rather have him like that, then be ALL mature at 15. Thats too fast...and no fun! Let him be a kid if he wants to once in awhile. I dont see the harm.

Unless it is a serious problem that interfers with his life, I don't think it's necessary to ban him from the show. I know you have heard "boys mature later than girls" and that may be why he still likes the show. But it is his preference and it's something that he finds entertaining. Eventually, he may not like it anymore, but until then you'll just have to let it go. I guess if you really wanted to you could ask him why he watches it or what he like about it.

well im 15 and i like spongebob every once in a while..i dont think there is anything wrong with it, everyone likes different things. if he is like obsessed with it and wears like spongebob clothes, and if he like knows all the times that its on tv and prepares his whole day around it then that might be a problem. but if thats not whats going on, i wouldnt worry about it, he will definitly grow out of it. if you really want to change him, i would try telling him that you thinks its immature and that he should watch something else, introduce him to new shows.

Haha don't worry about it. I'm 15 and I know some people who still watch spongebob -it's fine! It's not like they're 'nerdy' or whatever. Every morning I watch Hey Arnold when I get ready for school. Hahaha .. it's okay though, nothing to sweat. He'll probably grow out of it eventually, but he isn't the only one that still watches it.

I really don't think YOU need to stop him from watching spongebob. I mean it's his interest. I used to like spongebob a couple years back(and when i say a couple years, i mean like 1 year). Which was when i was 15... But yeah, I am 16 now and I totally grew out of it. I am sure if you don't pressure him he'll just grow out of it. And if he doesn't then what the hay! I say if it doesn't impact his social life then let the boy watch some spongy goodness! :)

Whats wrong with spongebob? i love spongebob! its a good show i still watch it,its one of the few good cartoons that i actually liked. You cant tell someone not to watch something that they like watching.i tried to get my little brother to stop watching wrestling on tv but thats what he loves to watch so just leave your brother alone.(not trying to sound mean). Its just like how older people still like watching shows when they were kids.My 24 year old brother still watches the cartoon tom and jerry! its really not a big deal.
