Which party?

Question Posted Sunday February 18 2007, 11:43 am

Hey, this is kind of a menial question, so yeah. But uh tonight I got invited to two birthday parties that start around the same time. One, is my best friend "Margaret's" birthday. We're going to Maccaroni Grill and that's it. The other is my friend from tennis, "Lucy". Lucy is pretty popular on the team and I really was happy she invited me and I want to get to know her well and stuff. But, Margaret is my best friend. At first I was like, Ok i'm defidently going to Margaret's. But.. idk. Lucy's party is we're going shopping and then spending the night at a hotel. Both are sweet 16 birthdays. My parents suggested going out to eat with Margaret and then going to spend the night with Lucy. But since me and LUcy aren't like besssttt friends, i dont' want to seem like a lot of trouble since I'm not even one of her good friends. Does that make sense? well, please reply asap! thankks!

hmm thats a tough one. you have to decide, whats more important best friend or potential friend. maybe you could ask "margerate" if you could spend the next night with her, like her own private party for the two of you. That way you can chill with "lucy" as well.

I know what you mean. Okay, I'm going to give you the 'go to your best friend's party' speech really fast. She's your best friend, she'll always be there for you and this Lucy girl probably won't.
But I think if you wanted to go to Lucy's party then that's fine too. Your not a bad person if you don't go to Margaret's party. Plus, shopping and spending the night in a hotel! Niiiice =]
You can always do something with Margaret. Tell her happy birthday, and spend the next weekend together to celebrate.
I'm sure whichever one you choose to go to everything will work out.
Have fun!!

-Katie

This definitely isn't my kind of question. I recommend you spend at least some time at margaret's, since she's your best friend. Give that first priority, but if you can manage to go to Lucy's then do that too.

Who invited you first? I think Lucy's party sounds funner but Margaret IS your BEST friend & I think you should remain loyal to those grounds. Go to your best friend, Margaret's because she's most likely to be there for you than Lucy is for your party or something like that. I mean, going to Margaret's party you're doing the right thing & that's what matters. Just tell Lucy that you can't make it & you're really sorry but send her something like a Birthday Card through the mail or whatever & a gift certificate. You might not have as much fun w/ Lucy because she's having more people go too & since she knows them better she might hang out with them more. Good luck & I HOPE I HELPED!

aww thats tough. it might be a good idea to go to margarets, even if it may be boring compared to the other. shes your best friend, and you should be there for her sweet 16. she is probably looking forward to you coming. i know it may not interest you, but i think you should go to hers. best friends always come first.

what your parents suggested is good you should listen to them more often HAHA! i say you should just go out to eat with margaret then after go out with lucy. and you could even ask lucy is margaret could go out with you guys if you dont want to feel like your ditching margaret for lucy. going shopping then spending the night at a hotel sounds awesome. ive actully done that with a few friends for a bday and i will honestly never forget that haha i still have the hotel key. shh. haha but just try this and good luck!!!!!!!

Gabrielle: Well Hunny, go to both parties. Go eat with Margaret and spend the night with Lucy. If you want to get to know Lucy better, spend time with her. Margaret won't be mad, seriously. If i was in the situation, i'd go to both parties. And Bonus, if you wanna get to know Lucy, at the party, stand out in the crown. Luv 2 Help.
