When people are unsure or don't know how to spell a word they put (sp?) next to it, just to show that they might be spelling the word wrong. "(Sp?)" is just an abbreviation, for spelling.

Its when someone is unsure if they spelled the word correctly; they would put (sp?) at the end of the word.

clarayow answered Wednesday January 3 2007, 11:47 am:
It means that they aren't sure of the correct spelling.

Eg: reading
readding(sp?)

But sometimes they've actually spelt it correctly but just aren't sure of it.

(sp?) = (spelling?) = (is my spelling correct?)

Mackenzie answered Wednesday January 3 2007, 4:14 am:
It's an online abbreviation. When someone is unsure of the spelling of a word, they type the word with a "(sp?)" to follow. For istance, the word 'nachos'. Let's say they make an attempt by stating, "nauchoes(sp?)", make sense?
