christmas present for my mom

Question Posted Sunday December 3 2006, 7:46 pm

I've gotten all of my Christmas shopping done, except for one person: my mom. I have no idea what to get her! The problem is she doesn't want anything, and what she does want she buys herself. Could I have some ideas please? Maybe some gifts you got for your own mother? Thanks!

get her something from the heart. some of the past presents i have gotten my mum are her fave perfume, a necklace etc. get her something you know she will like. another idea is if you have siblings start a stocking for her then you can put in little things like bubble bath etc. you can also give her coupons for like, "1 day of house work" "5 kitchen cleans. or something that gives her some time alone like a spa day. also with the coupons you can write that they can be used whenever she wants.

actually i havent shopped for my mom either, but i've got an idea for you that i know most moms would probably like! since she likes buying things herself, get her a gift certificate to a store that she really likes or goes to a lot. and with that you could make her something like christmas cookies decorated cute, or something that you made yourself, maybe a picture frame with a favorite picture in it... have a good cmas! xoxo helpachick

moms ALWAYS love stuff thats made by you. you dont really even have to spend much money on it. Make your own card with a sweet note just tellyou you love her and find pictures of you and her and make a collage or get those frames with more than one picture fram on it. Simple meaningful stuff like that is always great for moms.

I have the same problem bc my parents are always like we dont want anything..so I take them to a really nice restaurant downtown Chicago (i know you might not live in the city but im sure any nice placed will do) and just pay for their dinner..we get to spend time together and your parents LOVE that!

Bath & Body Works is a really good option (good thinking to whomever mentioned it already).
Also you could try a more crafty thing - the blankets or pillows that are two pieces of fleece tied together are great simple projects. Handmade ornaments are usually a hit with parents as well, no matter how old you are. When I was younger I always did "household coupon books" where I made about 12 (give or take about 4) coupons that were good for things like emptying the dishwasher, folding laundry, cleaning bathrooms, raking leaves in spring or fall, shovling the driveway etc.
A mother-child day has positive options as well, go shopping and to lunch or something, if you're both outdoorsy people maybe have a sledding/skiiing/skating/snowboarding (whichever you both prefer) day.
If you know how to cook breakfast foods breakfast in bed is an option. So's baking cookies or other sweets when she's not home and giving them to her.
CDs of favorite songs of hers that you burn, or her favorite singer/band could work, so could books. Barns & Noble or Borders are good parental gift ideas.
Hope this gave you a couple possibilities!

The first thing that came to my mind was Bath and Body Works. You can get her anything from there: lotion, perfume, body wash... there's a lot of stuff. And who doesn't like stuff that smells that good?! You could also get her some jewelry or maybe a cute purse or something. Just think of something along those lines that you might like and i'm sure that she would enjoy it too.
