Question Posted Saturday November 18 2006, 3:31 am

Ok, I'm a bit confused. Are condoms 90% effective or 98%?? And are they very easy to break?

Thankyou!!!!

Apart from what everybody else said, DON'T keep condoms in a warm environment. Such as in a wallet, pocket, or anywhere else that is heated. Keep them in a "cool, dry place". They become drastically less effective if they stay warm for too long before being used, as the latex degrades.

i have been having sex & using condoms now for about 3 years.
i've used the cheap ones & really good ones, & i've never had one break, & i've not gotten pregnant yet.

so i'd say they are about 95% effective if used right.
& pretty tough to break.

they are less likely to break if they fit the guy right.

Condoms are about 96% effective. However never put to condoms on together because they will break but if the guy is just wearing one and it fits properly (you dont want it to fall off or anything, because thats will be bad) then you should be fine.

Condoms are 98% effective, and can break if you do not use them correctly.

As far as I know they only break during the act if she isn't wet enough and you didn't use enough lube, but that is a rather painful feeling for the girl anyway.

Condoms are 98% effective. They can break, but not very easily when in use. If they broke alot when they were being worn then they'd be less than 98% effective. However, things like nails or jewellery can break them and sometimes they can split when they're on. It's always good to use condoms with another form of contraception (like the pill).
