Me

well, I would go ask your grandmother or aunt or a person who is older than 18 and who is a girl and ask them if they can buy you some pads or tampons and mabe even some new underware. ok I am going to let my cousin give you some advice now here she is.

cousin

well discharge is the first step to getting your period so dont be scared it is naturaql every girl goes through it...just get ready to start your period. and if your scared to get pads or tampons than go to a store with a self check out...it makes things so much easier.

You dont have to tell your dad that your getting pads if you dont want to because your too shy.Just ask him for some money to go shopping and buy pads.If he finds them in your room THEN you can tell him.

Well they have things called light days, which are sorta like pads. But not exactly, they arent near as thick, but they line your underwear, and its usually enough for when your ending your period, or for discharge.

And if your not comfortable telling your dad, (I wouldnt be either, even though he most likely knows its normal.) Just go with some friends and grocery shop, and you can casually buy pads, but sooner or later, you might have to tell your dad, once you do get your period. Just ask him if he can get some pads when he goes shopping.. haha, OR ask him for money. I know its awkward, or find someone else thats close to you, like an aunt, or an older sister? Or a close friend for help with stuff like this.

Try pantyliners. They're like a thinner version of a sanitary towel that you can just slip into your underwear to keep you dry and your underwear clean.

As for dealing with your dad, then casually tell him that you need some money to buy some feminine necessities. He will understand and probably won't ask any further questions as men generally get embarassed about this kind of thing.

I wouldn't use pads. I would most definitely use panty liners. They're thinner and more comfortable. Anyways, just tell your dad that you need "feminine products" or you could by them yourself. Hope I helped! <3 Em

Everyone has vaginal um..."secretions", it's how your body cleans itself. And there's not really anything people can do about it..I wouldn't suggest pads though because they're a pain, and I wouldn't want to have to wear them any longer than I had to.
But, if that's the route you want to take, try buying panty-liners first, they're really thin so they don't aggravate you through the day. Then, if those still don't work, you can try other types of pads.
Good luck, and if you have any other questions, feel free to ask me.

hey!

dont worry your dad knows in some point of your life your going to need to get pads for your period. you should try talking to him about it because he's probably worring that your not going to be talking to him about this kinda stuff since your mom isn't here. next time when your out with your friends just buy your pads then..you can always talk to your relatives like a aunt or older cousin.. if you and your dad go shopping for stuff just go grab a pack of pads and tell your dad you need to get these so have him buy it..hope this helps!!

Elcee answered Monday August 7 2006, 7:17 am:
Your Dad is an adult and he was married to your Mum. He will definitely understand that you will need to buy some feminine items. If you are too embarrassed to buy them whilst he is around, ask a female relative to go with you or perhaps a friend/friends Mum.

You can buy sanitary wear at most supermarkets and definitely at a chemists. The assistants will have sold many thousands of these and it is quite a normal thing for them to do.

If you get an allowance, perhaps your Dad could allow you to have a little extra when you have your periods just to buy the things you need.

Good luck and don't feel embarrassed by what is a normal, natural occurrence.

your dad is an adult, he will understand. it is also important to have pads ready for when you do get your period. if you can't just go up to your dad and ask him to take you to the store, then the next time both of you are at a drug store, go to the feminine hygene aisle and pick some up then tell your dad you need them. like this "here dad (shows him pads), we'll need to buy these to", then walk off and look at something else.

he's not going to think it is strange, especially since every girls has to buy pads at some point in her life.

If you have a friend, tell your dad you will go shopping with her. Then while you are shopping, buy some pads. if your dad is curious, just tell him its normal. its okay if he knows.

I hope I helped!
