Question Posted Sunday August 13 2006, 8:18 pm

Today, I did one of the workouts in they had in Seventeen magazine. It was the first time I did it. After, I felt kind of shaky and exhausted. I felt like "woozy". Is there something wrong?

You were most likely dehydrated. Make sure to drink plenty of water a little while before working out, as well as after. Also, make sure you warm up. Stretch a lot, keeping it nice and slow at first, get your muscles ready to move. If you feel woozy, take a break and drink some water or a sports drink, like gatorade. You can do some stretching while taking your break, and then go back to your workout if you feel up to it. It is normal for your heart to race and your body to ache. That is a sign of a good workout. But if you are lightheaded and shaky, stop for a while. I had a friend pass out from dehydration, and I have come close myself. Working out is good for you, but only if you do it right and take care of your health.

no. if this is the first time you've tried, give it a couple more shots and if you still feel "woozy", then stop using that workout and try something new. ask your doctor for a recemadation.

You were probably just a little tired. If this is your first time doing this kind of exercises, you just aren't used to them so you get tired faster. Once you do your workouts everyday, you body will adjust and you won't have a problem with doing these exercises. Just make sure you're well hydrated and you should be good to go. ♥

that means you weren't hydrated enough and you overworked yourself

Slow it down a bit and make sure you are breathing with each repetition. It's okay to feel a bit tipsy after a good workout, but it could also mean that you aren't breathing well during your workout.

It's most likey just because you aren't used to working out. Keep at it and after awhile, it'll go away.

Oh yeah and tell me if those things work, haha.

Feeling that way means that the workout worked! Continue because this is probably good for you. Just make sure to hydrate and don't be worried if you get a little sore.
