Okay , so i babysit this sixth grader three days a week. & let me tell ya .. IT IS SOOOOO BORING OVER THERE! All that i ever do is watch t.v., eat, & talk on the phone. Oh yeah ... and i also get on the computer. Any ideas on what else I could do over there? He always goes over to his friends houses all the time , so its not like I can do anything with him. Grrrr , HELPPP!

We'll you said that he always goes over to his friends house.. so why are you babysiting? I mean didn't you realize that? If thats not true then you can.. like invite a friend over and talk about some things or whatever. Or try takeing the kid some were aome time. maybe then he will realize how fun you are?!! How bout that?!
*Also you could Make dinner or lucnh or a snack for him sometime.
*Watch some movies with him. Stuff like that. You have a kid there. Stop acting like you don't have company there. [ RaRa91231's advice column | Ask RaRa91231 A Question ]

missmad127 answered Wednesday August 16 2006, 4:19 pm: i would say to tell him that today you would rather him stay at the house but he can have his friend over, but that is only if your up to the challenge of 2 sixth graders which can be a handfull. take homework, a book, some magazines, or some art stff if you are into that or you could go outside and do something, do u have a sport you play you could practice that if they have games and stuff ask him if he wants to stay and play a game board games or sports or cards...any thing
if i were in your situation i would tell him i would rather him stay at the house or have the friend over and you can all play a game but tell him that since he is always at his friends house that you think it would be nice to give his parents a break and invite him over
lostinpraise answered Sunday August 13 2006, 3:31 pm: When I babysit, I use it as an oppertunity to do all the things I know I need to do, but never get around to doing at home because theres so many distractions at home! For instance, homework, exam revision, writing letters to people. Letters is always a good one, relatives will always be glad to hear from you, and old friends you may have lost touch with. Also doing things that require concetration, like fixing things. I never get quiet at home, so when kids are out or asleep, its nice to have a quiet house to get things done in! Use the oppertunity =) [ lostinpraise's advice column | Ask lostinpraise A Question ]

Nallie answered Sunday August 13 2006, 2:20 pm: Since school will be starting soon and if you are still babysitting, take your homework along. Perhaps you can also help the boy do his assignments. As a parent of a 7th grader I would pay you extra to do that! While it's not fun, it will pass the time.
You said that you eat while your there, perhaps you ask his parents if you could try to cook some fancy things for their supper. Try out some new recipes, or even bring your own ingredients and leave samples for them, and bring some of the food home. All of my kids like to cook and they have kids cook books that have easy and creative recipes. [ Nallie's advice column | Ask Nallie A Question ]
laycieee answered Sunday August 13 2006, 12:23 pm: Lol, well what I do when I'm bored is arts & craftsie stuff. I just bought this thing the other day it was like a dog keychain maker and you could make little doggies out of mini pom poms and they give you eyes and pipe cleaners for tails, it was really cute. You can get any of this stuff at Jo-Ann Fabrics, Michaels, AC Moore, or even Walmart. Another idea is to start drawing, you could be really good at it. Something else I like to do is make drawings using craypas, which are like clayish sort of crayons. You could also buy miniature air planes (not set up) and build them, weird hobby, but entertaining. You could also start scrap-booking. Take some old (or new) photos you have from home and bring them there and buy some nice stickers (the pop-out ones are especially nice), a scrap-book, and some scissors & glue and you're all set. You can get all of this stuff at the stores I mentioned. Hope I gave you some good ideas :)
P.S: Another thing I really like doing is beading, it's fun and you could make some necklaces or bracelets for friends or family members on holidays. [ laycieee's advice column | Ask laycieee A Question ]
