My girlfriend's birthday is comming up. I'd like to get her a book that she would like, she reads a lot. She likes to read novels, the mushy love story kind. Does anyone recommend any that they have actually read? I'm not too great when it comes to this. Or should I just ask her which one she would like? I did want it to be a surprise, but if that's the best way to go about it, I'll try it.
NoLies_JustLove answered Thursday July 27 2006, 2:58 pm: If you want to buy her a novel and have it be a surprise, think about some movies she likes, because some movies are based on novels. For example, the movie The Notebook is based the novel. So, if she really liked the movie The Notebook, you could get her the novel. I read it and it's really good and someone who likes love stories would like it haha. I also recommend anything by the author Nicholas Sparks; most of his books are love stories and they are really good. Good luck. =) [ NoLies_JustLove's advice column | Ask NoLies_JustLove A Question ]

Good Luck mate... shes a lucky lass, my boyfriend doesnt have a clue about presents but i think thats a perfect idea!

Adviceteen08 answered Thursday July 27 2006, 12:38 am: instead of asking her which book shed like maybe you could just ask who her favorite author was and search for a book by that author, that way you get your info without letting her know whats going on [ Adviceteen08's advice column | Ask Adviceteen08 A Question ]
tiffanyD answered Wednesday July 26 2006, 9:53 pm: if you're not sure what book to get, buy a gift certificate from her favourite bookstore, and put it in a nice, fancy envelope and include a pretty bookmark. that way, she can get whatever book she wants. maybe throw in a sweet teddy bear or rose to make it even more special...
good luck! [ tiffanyD's advice column | Ask tiffanyD A Question ]

ernst_384 answered Wednesday July 26 2006, 11:11 am: My favorite book of all times is The Theif of Always by Clive Barker. You have to order it online though. I don't think it's lovey dovey mushey gushey, but it's a great book. Even one of my teachers at school likes it! But I think you should ask her what books she likes, and then get it for her so then you will know that she will like the gift you give her! Hope I helped.
