this is normal for teenagers and is commen in adults too. this could be linked to depression or anything like that you should go to the doctors to see if they can get you some medicene to help you get to sleep i have insomnia && they gave me pills for it but the problem is i go to bed around 10-11 so i take the pills at that time so it takes like three hours for them to work so be aware of that ♥

You're not insane. Actually, many people encounter this problem a lot. Millions of americans do. And it does not sound like you are suffering from insomnia, from the way you have been explaining it. But there is a potential risk of you getting it. Do you ever feel anxiety, tension, are you depressed? Does anything bother you as you are trying to sleep? Or do you wake up with distracting sounds? Ask yourself those questions, and try using sleeping pills. To naturally get yourself to sleep, use the pill "Melatonin", which is the "sleeping hormone". It is fast and all natural, so you can use it for a long period of time. Try that first, they can be found at any drugstore or some grocery stores. If that does not work, contact a doctor about your symptoms and problems and he/she migh prescribe you stronger prescription medications. Another thing you could try is meditation, which calms and relaxes you, making you more likely to fall asleep faster and easier and getting a full night's sleep. And I have the same problem but I use (currently) Melatonin, and they work great! They help me fall asleep faster and easier, and I go the whole night without waking up like I used to.

Hey there, I am an adult and have had the same issue for over 15 years. I have visited sleep clinics and tried every trick out there. Basically I find I cycle I sleep well for 3-4 months then I will be hit with insomnia for a month or so where I can't fall asleep and if I fall asleep I can sleep for 14 hours at a shot. There are many tricks you can try the ones previously suggested are great, also what works well is having a bath right before bed and using a sleep mask to block out all light. Also if I have something where I need to be well rested I sometimes take a benedryl I AM NOT RECOMENDING THIS!!! I am just saying that for me it helps sometimes. (Benedryl is the same drug that is in over the counter sleep medications)

Hope this helps

your not going insane i have the same exact problem!!!! for one it's summer. but i found something that calms me down is like reading, drawing, i actually draw before bed, or text on your phone or play a quiet game or something it just depends. try to stay away from watching a lot of tv and being on the computer too long. cuz the light in the tv/computer tells your brain that it's not bed time yet. lol weird i know. also my parents actualy talked to a sleep doctor and he said that if you take everything out of your room other than your clothes and bed you'll sleep eaiser. and he also said that you need to try to keep a schedule because if you don't get a good amount of sleep it can mess up your brain and you'll never sleep right! And if you think that it's still not working (no lights, no loud music, nothing real active BEFORE BED *it's also a good idea to actually get 30 min. of exercise so your body is a little worn out*) then talk to your doctor. && just so you know your not the only one i have that problem too i'll clean my room organize literally everything and sometimes even my homework (when schools in session) i'll do that and i'll get a better grade. it's weird but you just have to calm down like 2-3 hours before you go to bed. also try not to have much caffine or sugar. it also helps!

Hope i helped!

Do you have alot on your mind? Thats one of the main reasons, why people can't sleep. Because, something is usually bothering them. Whatever you think about at night, like if you've done something wrong in your past, or whatever. You need to fix it. If thats not it, then try drinking a warm glass of milk. Still doesn't work? Try counting sheep. & those methods. Have you told your mom or someone? That you have this problem? You're sleeping habit might be messed up. Because, for awhile I had trouble sleeping, because I was inlove with this one boy & thats all I ever thought about. So I had trouble falling asleep. & I would like go to bed at like 3, & then wake up at 12 the next day. So try getting your sleeping habit better. The days that you sleep for a really long time, thats probly because, your getting rest for all the time you missed sleeping, when you stayed up. If you try those things & it still doesn't get better. You might want to see a doctor or something. Hope that helped! bye =)

you might be going insane.

no im playing.

its summer dont worry about it. your probably just off your sleeping schdule. try to cut out the caffeine from your diet and dont eat alot of sweets that have alot of sugar because that can make yu hyper and not tired. about the whole sleeping too much thing...it prolly cuz on the nights youy dont sleep your body gets tired so when yu do sleep your body takes advantage of that.

if this continues for a long time though, i would tell your parents or a doctor. not that nething is wrong with you, just because they may want to give you like sleeping pills or soemthing to help you sleep better

Well, Im guessing its just summer and a lot of people are like this. Its a bad cycle - if you go to bed late, you'll get up in the middle of the day and wont be tired at a reasonable bed time. So, you have to wake up earlier one day so that you feel tired at night! But, if that doesnt work and you honestly think you have insomnia, talk to your parents about it and go to a doctor. They will give you sleeping pills.
