JillandAmanda answered Friday July 14 2006, 9:54 pm: omg its great to take a cold shower! not cold but not hot either just like cool. and theres thi samazing stuff called aloe vera gel. its green and you can get it at a drug store or publix. anywhere bassically. and it soothes the skin and cools it down to make you feel comfterable. try ice packs also.hold it there for a while then take it off and it will still feel hot but the stingy feeling will go away. almost like its numb.
Nallie answered Wednesday July 12 2006, 9:43 pm: A cool shower--with water running over your skin, and no scrubbing with a washcloth will be fine. If you can take ibuprofen (ask your pharmacist) it will help with the pain. The sunburn medications that contain "cain" such as solarcain that you can apply to the skin work by reducing the pain (similar to topical anesthesia. Drink a lot of water, wear soft cotton clothes, and sleep on old sheets that have been washed many times because they are softer. [ Nallie's advice column | Ask Nallie A Question ]
jkiser answered Wednesday July 12 2006, 3:56 pm: I sometimes have the same problem. If you go to the store and get some stuff called cocoa butter, it will moisten the sunburn and it surely relieves the pain. I used it this past summer at the beach and it works great. Good luck. I_am_Neo answered Wednesday July 12 2006, 3:46 pm: Take a cold shower. Also, some spf50 or something will help so it doesn't get worse. If you are using any spf, you may need a stronger kind or apply some more. I'm a swimmer myself so I know what you got. Try some burn relief.

ringo8mybaby answered Wednesday July 12 2006, 1:25 pm: I know this sounds gross but... only real natural alo vera plants relieve burns. So the next best thing is eggs. Crack some eggs or smear some mayo on your burns. I swear it works. [ ringo8mybaby's advice column | Ask ringo8mybaby A Question ]
GREENEYEDGiRL22 answered Wednesday July 12 2006, 4:30 am: no showers are GOOD! and baths are better. take a bath with a few cups of epsom salt in a luke warm water for half an hour.
lastlyMe answered Wednesday July 12 2006, 1:24 am: aloe vera all over. Preferably the real kind. My mom puts ours in the refrigerator to keep it cold and then puts it on. It feels great!
uisforukelele answered Wednesday July 12 2006, 12:38 am: take a shower (don't take one that's too hot or it'll hurt like the dickens!) and then put on some type of lotion that has aloe vera in it. i don't know what you have at your house, but the green gel aloe vera is the best, and you definitely need some type of lotion on your skin. there are plenty of after sun lotions at the grocery store and walmart and stuff (banana boat is my favorite) but this sounds kind of urgent so you may not be able to get those quick enough. look around your house for lotion that has aloe vera in it. if you find some, apply generously to all sunburned areas. don't reapply it like 80 times though because then it won't help at all, it'll just trap the heat. but even if you can't find aloe vera, find some lotion and put it on. sunburns suck but this is one of the best things you can do right now! cheburashka answered Wednesday July 12 2006, 12:36 am: buy some aloe vera sunburn relief gel or, if you have an aloe vera plant at home, just cut off a leaf, split it down the middle and spread the gell that's inside on your sunburn. if you don't have either one, you can just use some sunblock - it can help a little after you've been sunburned too. taking a shower is ok, but you probably don't want to turn the temp too high.
