I have horrible cramps. They are so bad I can't stand up straight and I'm almost in tears. How can I lessen the pain? I tried ibuprofen but it's not helping and a heating pad doesn't work either.
jumadel answered Monday July 3 2006, 3:19 am: Hi, the question is how bad is the pain? It sounds like it could be teenage cramp. Were the muscles get larger and slide across which can cause a little bit of pain. It sounds as though it's painful. A strong panadol with maybe 2-3 tablets taken could work. Try that and if that does not work then go and have a look at a pharmacist shop. They can give you expert advice on what to use. Daniel. [ jumadel's advice column | Ask jumadel A Question ]
AskAndy answered Sunday July 2 2006, 11:45 pm: try to avoid caffine it increases cramps. asprin relieves menstrual cramps but im not sure if it would help with normal cramps but u could try. celebrex and tylenol might help if all else fails. you could try a hot bath too. orphans answered Sunday July 2 2006, 10:22 pm: Try taking a medecine other then ibuprofen. It obviously doesn't work for you. Try using Tylenol Etra Strength or Midol. Whenever you feel the slightest cramp starting to come, take one and it should help right away. I've had this happen before sort of but it wasn't cramps. And i couldn't even get onto my bed because i couldn't stand up straight and ofcourse i cried. What i do, after i take medecine, is try to distract myself from the pain. Put on a movie or a show thats really funny because when you start laughing you start forgetting about the pain and soon enough you don't feel it. One more tip, when you get cramps, don't bend over, just stand straigh and walk around because when i had a horrible pain in my stomach i bent over because it hurt so much and thats how i got stuck not being able to stand up straigh. Good luck! Let me know if it works or if you need more idea! [ orphans's advice column | Ask orphans A Question ]
xomegaroni answered Sunday July 2 2006, 9:20 pm: one of the columnists said drink milk before, definatelllyyy don't. it makes it worse. try staying out've the heat, but don't drink anything cold. lay comfortably, maybe sleep. juss stay comfortable & take your mind off of it. make sure you go to the bathroom enough. don't use tampons.
Teza answered Sunday July 2 2006, 8:13 pm: I usually always get bad cramps so all you have to do is move around. Walk around, take a hot bath. You can also just lay down and put a heated patch on your stomach. It usually helps. Eat something and then take Advil and take a nap. Just relax and they should go away. Feel better. =] [ Teza's advice column | Ask Teza A Question ]
tasuki answered Sunday July 2 2006, 7:57 pm: This could be very serious. You really need to go to a doctor right away. Usually they give you birth control when it's this bad. Don't worry about it too much, but definitely get to a doctor as soon as possible.
LoveNJstyle answered Sunday July 2 2006, 7:16 pm: try to move around a bit, drink some milk, get enough to eat, go to the bathroom (that might be part of the pain, seriously), distract yourself and go watch some tv, draw, or go for a walk. hope you start feeling better! <3 [ LoveNJstyle's advice column | Ask LoveNJstyle A Question ]
missmissgurl answered Sunday July 2 2006, 7:00 pm: Since ibuprofen doesn't work, try using a heated pad on your stomach. This happened to me, but that's all I could think of doing, or a hot shower. I'm sorry, ik it sucks!!! [ missmissgurl's advice column | Ask missmissgurl A Question ]

BEAUTiFUL_LOVEx answered Sunday July 2 2006, 5:20 pm: Firstly, i'm sorry that you have cramps. I know the pain your in, and its horrible.
For me motrin ALWAYS works best. That and lots of water. Plus if you're wearing a tampon, don't. Just wear a pad. Also, try being active. Even if it is hard to walk, and hurts more. Try and just slowly walk and do things, this also helps them go away quicker.
Hopefully that helps! [ BEAUTiFUL_LOVEx's advice column | Ask BEAUTiFUL_LOVEx A Question ]
