Nallie answered Saturday July 1 2006, 1:36 am: When you are high you'd feel different. Sort of like being disconnected from your body. The world around you doesn't seem real, you might be off balance and feel like you are in slow motion. I think the amount of THC in different weed varies. It also depends on your body size and metabolism. So while you don't feel the effects, you are still putting an illegal drug in your body...and it can stay in your body for 30 days after smoking. Pot does have an effect on the heart and blood vessels and sometimes it can be laced with PCP or other dangerous drugs. If you keep smoking an illegal substance, it will catch up with you. It's like playing with fire, eventually you are gonna get burned! [ Nallie's advice column | Ask Nallie A Question ]

LoveNJstyle answered Thursday June 29 2006, 6:01 pm: It's really not that bad for you. I mean yeah, it does some damage in the long run, but just doing it on occasion can't kill you. the only bad thing it can do is get you in trouble. drug tests and cops can...parents too, but that's about it. <3 [ LoveNJstyle's advice column | Ask LoveNJstyle A Question ]
mellucious answered Thursday June 29 2006, 12:32 pm: You probably aren't getting high if you only smoke weed once every 2 months. I found that it took some "regular" usage for me to get high. Now for some bad news-my Mom smokes cigarettes and weed, my daughter smokes cigarettes and weed, and I gave up smoking weed over 20 years ago, but still smoke ciggies. My Daughter who is only 22, has a chronic cough all day long, and wakes up hacking so bad, that I say things to her like "hey have another bong hit, sounds like its doing great for you." My Mom has lung disease officially now, and a smokers hack since I can remember. Myself-no cough at all, but I have also been an "on and off" smoker.

danerox answered Thursday June 29 2006, 11:13 am: weed is bad for you! although it may not damage how you feel or damage your heart, it still causes damamge to your brain! every time you smoke, you are killing brain cells. how do i know this? we had this guy come to our school, and he educated us on the harms of many different drugs. (weed was included) and i feel like i should tell you this because i dont want you to harm yourself. if you listen to my advice, i am sure that you will be ok! oh yeah, and the reason why you hav never heard of anyone dying from weed is becauseit DOESN'T affect your heart, but DOES affect your brain! so, yeah, weed is bad for you, and although you do not smoke alot, it can still damage your brain cells. i hope i helped!

Cj answered Thursday June 29 2006, 10:32 am: Once every two months is cool. It should not cause you any problems. Just make sure you are not too old, cause that seems to have greater effects then.
There also different levels of high. The most common one is just a weird feeling, and you start to laugh alot. That is the most common reaction to weed. it is not a hallucinogen, so it should not make you hallucinate, if you do start to hallucinate, then your smoking too much. And thats not good.
And here is something you probably never tought of. When is the last time you heard that someone died, or ended up in the hospital, from an overdose of weed? (NEVER) [ Cj's advice column | Ask Cj A Question ]
Jess5764 answered Thursday June 29 2006, 10:15 am: weed isn't as bad for you as its made out to be in all the government propoganda commercials you see on tv, if you know the ones im talking about. its not really addicting but as for inhaling any smoke its probobly not the best for your lungs, but its a hell of a lot better than cigarettes. you might not be getting high because you're smoking bad weed or not enough. but overall its not awful for you (its probobly better than alchohol and def. better than cigarettes) so its basically the safest "drug", but its not really good for you either because you can lose brain cells if you do it too often(like every day).
once every 2 mo. isn't going to hurt you, just dont get caught with it because that WILL hurt you. [ Jess5764's advice column | Ask Jess5764 A Question ]
Alin75 answered Thursday June 29 2006, 6:09 am: Ok, I dont agree with the first answer. First of all there are degrees in the severity of drugs (aspirin is a drug for Gods sake). Secondly, weed does not kill brain cells (alcohol does, weed does not), but it does slow you a bit. I dont remember the exact process but its an effect that will pass once you stop smoking (I read some reports on this stuff some years back).
Now, the effects of smoking are never good. There are risks associated with cancer and so forth, but I guess you are familiar with those.
As for the weed itself, you will usually find two general opinions on it. The first one claims its an evil drug from hell, the other claims its totally harmless.
In my opinion the answer is in the middle. Weed can give you problems. While the addictiveness level is low (since it has no physically addictive properties), you can still get hooked on it. Then, if you smoke too much you risk something called hash psychosis (I am translating this from another language... but you get the idea). This is rare but it can happen (a little like delerium tremens for alcoholics).
If you get addicted it becomes a serious financial burden (unfortunately I speak from past personal experience).
As for the high, its very mild. It also varies a bit from person to person. So, no one can help you there... its your brain that interprets the "high" feeling.
Seriously though, my advice is for you to stop. Particularly if you dont get high, why the hell would you want to expose yourself to the risk? I am not going to bullshit you, as far as addictions go, weed is amongst the most harmless and unlikely.
However, it happened to me, and it happened to a few other people I know. I got out (after 2 years of being broke, of going to my university exams stoned and getting mediocre grades, and finally one day ending in hospital thinking I was going nuts- seriously). I have another friend who has not quit. He is older than me (mid 30s) now, and Im telling you more and more he prioritises the weed over everything else in life. I admit both me and him tend to be exceptions, but the risk isnt worth it.
Anyway here is the sum up to your question: Weed (or the active ingredient THC) is a mildly addictive drug, generally less harmful, and certainly less addictive than other more socially accepted drugs (e.g alcohol and ciggarretes). However, as with any addiction, it carries a risk, and the possibility of problems later down the line. These problems range from general smoking related complications to rare but possible mental disorders.
jumadel answered Thursday June 29 2006, 5:54 am: Hi, it takes 100 cigarettes before you become addictive. You know when your high when you feel more jumpy, active and a bit more silly. You can become alert and sometimes get a little over excited. High blood pressure with being silly can be another sign and things like talking really loud and shaking your hands can be another sign. Smoking can cause death at a younger age such as early 60's and it usually causes lung cancer. The quicker you go off it the less likely you have to becoming addictive. Hope that helps. Daniel. Kit_Kat answered Thursday June 29 2006, 2:48 am: I'm not sure if this is a serious question or just a joke to get someone to reply, but here goes my answer, first drugs are drugs, even drinking is a drug, as far as weed I'm sure you could go the route that it's a natural plant blah blah blah, also one that alters your mind, thoughts and slows reactions as well as it has been proven that it kills brain cells, so if you have an IQ that is extreme and you can afford to have some brain cells die then hey guess your not to bad off for the few times you have done it, anyways you cut it drugs are not good for you, so think about what you want for your life and if it's not much, and you have pleanty of brain cells to spare, then I guess you know the answer.
