whats so great about abs?
Whats the fascination girls have over 6-packs? When my gf starts talking about celebrities, athletes, or other guys that have them, she drools over them and I feel miserable about myself and left out, I mean what am I supposed to say to that? I don't know if thats her way of telling me I should have one or what. It kind of bothers me, but I don't know if telling my gf that would do any good. All her other friends think the same thing, I just don't see whats so great about it...so what is it and what do you think I should do?

Holy shit- I can swear to you all that every single one of the clients that I train have brought up the "I want a 6 pack" desire at one time or another, I mean just look around this site- people ask this question every single damn day in all different varieties. The reason why people are so fascinated with the abs is because that is the region where we all store most of our bodyfat, and unfortunately is the visual centerpiece of our body. If you were to draw two X'es down the body, they would meet at the abs. Most people dont have 6 packs and I'll count myself in there because mine isnt anything to drool over and when we see that- we are reminded that we are out of shape and just plain ordinary. Dont pay much attention to what she says, because most of the guys you see with 6 packs usually only train the muscles they can see in a mirror from the waist up. Go to your local gym and see how many guys have huge arms, tight stomachs and chests and either they will wear pants or you'll be able to see their little chicken legs in shorts. We call them "Tanktop Trainers" and believe me they're laughed at because they're so out of proportion. Besides...haven't you figured out that teenage girls want to do that to you? All they want to do is make you feel jealous because it makes them feel special and important that her guy will get all pissy and macho if she says another guy is hot...it's just what they do and its all immaturity, once she finds out that MTV isn't real life and she needs a guy who has a little more brains over a 6 pack- you'll feel a hell of alot better dude. Who gives a shit what she says, and if you want to play hardball talk about how J-Lo's ass is gorgeous or whatever and put some of that on her- Or even better, show absolutely no reaction when she says something like that as if you could care less- that will really get her because all she wants to see is a reaction from you so she feels all special and wanted. She's just a girl man and thats what they do- you don't want her to like your for your 6 pack. If you really can't stand it..then go work out and train like you want to be the Incredible Hulk, once she gets a little older she'll grow out of her "O my gawd look at his 6 pack like chaaaa" phase. Sorry...I just hate when I see guys getting all jealous in this situation, I feel for you.

We feel the same way about legs, tits or asses. Not all women like 6 packs, but a lot do and that's their choice. I believe six packs should only deal with beer. She likes six packs and I like legs. Same type thing.

When you look in a magazine most of the guy celebrities have 6packs... but that percentage is over exagerated for regular people. Most people in society do not have 6packs- so its really not a big deal that you dont have one. She would love if you had one though. Dont tell her to not talk about them- shes not trying to tell you anything.
I dont know exactly whats so great about it. I like it too, but not exactly sure why.

Well, sorry to say, but 6-packs are super hott. Don't feel left out! She obviously has attraction to you, you're her boyfriend! Don't let it get to you, because girls love to make guys jealous, especially by talking about hott guys.

Hi, Ive got to tell you that the answer is no. Because if you don't want them then you don't have to have them. It's your body and you can do what you like with it. If she wants you for your abs, then theres something wrong. Talk to her about it. Girls however do get attractive to such things, just like boys are attractive to boobs. It's just natural. Most girls like 6-packs and think it make a already hot celebrity look even hotter...there's plenty of R-E-A-L people that have 6-packs so if it ment that much to her she would go get that which she hasn't...she feels comfortable enough in yall's relationship to be able to say he's hot about a guy on t.v. but if it really bother's you...try talking to her about it if she keeps on then the best thing I can tell you is to give her a dose of her own medicine, write on a piece of paper..."I'm just doing this to show you how it feels." and put it in your pocket...sit down with her to watch some tube and when a hot girl comes across the screen be like, damn her legs look good as hell, or whoa what a rack! and when she looks at you like wtf! give her the paper. That will stop her dead in her tracks and the oh look at his 6-pack comments will come to a dead-halt. good luck

Any girl you go out with is going to have some fasination with a celebrity. But the thing is she is with YOU for a reason- she likes you! Celebrities are just nice to look at. lol (not saying that your not.) But you're REAL. And you're the one she comes back to; not Justin Timberlake. So don't take it seriously. Oh and something you want to avoid: mentioning ANYTHING about a girl celebrity. Like "Man she is hot!" Because your girfriend will not be with you too much longer after you do that.

I don't think abs are all that great. I mean they are more attractive than a two hundred pound guy. If I were you I'd I ask your girlfriend if she wants you to have a six pack and she keeps hinting. Tell her it makes you feel like crap and to stop swooning over other guys in front of you. But in all seriousness, she'll probably never get with a celeb so let her swoon over them.

there is nothing hotter than making out with a guy that you can rub your hands on his hard six pack lol you are you and if your girlfriend is trying to hint that to you then she isnt a very good girlfriend. you are you and if she doesnt like it then go find someone who likes you for you not because you dont have a six pack. dont get me wrong, six packs are hot but i would never try to change my boyfriend because he didnt look like a celebs body. a little more to love is always nice too =] hope i helped

they're celebrities. They are completely unattainable to us regular folk which of course makes them more interesting. Your girlfriend doesn't expect you to have them, you'd be hard pressed to find someone who thinks they are going to meet a celebrity look alike, especially since the abs they're drooling over are most likely airbrushed. Your girlfriend isn't trying to tell you anything, plus it's alot easier than having her crush on regular guys because she has no chance of leaving you for Jake Gyllenhaal.
Besides, I'm sure you have a couple celebrity crushes yourself.
