So this weekend I have a hockey tournament and Im playing 6 games in 2 days. But thats not the problem. It takes 1 hour to play a hockey game and I will be playing 2 games with only 10 minutes of down time. Yeah, and its tiring to play! I'm going to do this 3 times--- 2 games on friday, 4 on sunday with 10-20 minutes of downtime between each pair. OK. thats not making sence. But all I know is that my coach told me to get energy drinks. Which are really good ones that work pretty fast, like within 1 hour or so? I'll RATE!
Thanks

In an hour, my heart rate went up about 40 or so beats a minute, and i was excessivly awake. However, it was my first time to drink it, which probably made the effects greater. This would probably be a good one to drink before a game. Another guy in my class drank a Redline. Those can be dangerous if you have too many, but after one he didn't sleep that night. Hope that helps
jumadel answered Monday June 12 2006, 9:46 pm: Hi, two common energy drinks would be, Red Bull and V. They both are suppose to have energy in them. See how them go. Daniel. [ jumadel's advice column | Ask jumadel A Question ]

Sherry answered Monday June 12 2006, 5:52 pm: Like that other person said, energy bars are way more healthy and more safe for someone in a sport. Energy drinks have the same affect, but only for a little bit and after your all hyped up your slow throughout the day. So stick with an energy bar, any kind really...all energy bars are good.
If you'd like, you could have both at the same time..which could help you even more. And you wont get tired later because of the bar you ate. I personally like Sobe Nofear (black and red can) it has an awesome taste + wakes you up.
taylamayy answered Monday June 12 2006, 5:21 pm: ok, i suggest energy bars. when you drink energy drinks it may work for a while but all your energy crashes eventually, so you can get really tired. so the drinks may work for the first few games of the day but towards the end, wich must be the most important game, you'll be tired. i play volleyball and for my grand rapids tournament i had the energy bars and it really did help. and running before games helps to wake you up to.

adrifacee answered Monday June 12 2006, 5:04 pm: Ohk. BOTH of my best friends are on a volleyball team, and it may not be as tiring as hockey but yes they get tired. I went with them on their last tournament in grandrapids and the moms all bought energy BARS for them to eat. They are really yummy and they come in things like smores and peanut butter chocolate. They sell them everywhere so dont worry about finding them. ANDD they are way yummier and healthier then energy drinks, easier to carry too.
xxoBriannax answered Monday June 12 2006, 4:56 pm: Amp, Monster, Red Bull. They even have energy pills that work REALLY good. They have them at mini marts for only about 2 dollars.
