[Helium gas is not poisonous. It is being used by the divers in deep-sea diving, mixed with oxygen. Breathing with pure helium will make a person pass out because of lack of oxygen. So, when someone breathes oxygen they will easily recover. There are no chemical reactions which occur in the body, and as soon as the helium has escaped, normal respiration begins again. Inhaling helium gas isn't a danger. It's just when people forget that they need oxygen to live that the problems occur.] [ honu22's advice column | Ask honu22 A Question ]
