First of all, stop going tanning. Obviously you got a sunburn and sunburns are bad. If you tan too much you will get wrinkles and then maybe even cancer. Uncool. Natural is beautiful, orange is not.

Stepping off my soap box... use aloe vera, it will work wonders, and keep yourself moisturized.

use lots of lotion prefrably unscented ( less chance of irritation) and next time use a suncreen with a high spf and if its uncomforable suring the day spread some aloe vera on it, that will ease the discomfort.

p.s natural tanning in the sun is always the best way to go, and excessive tanning in a bed isnt so great for your skin. also if you got burned really bad this time you more prone to it happening again.

Next time use lotion with some SPF in it. Put aloe-vera lotion on it. I also heard that if you take a shower and rub yourself with vinegar, it takes away your sunburn.

well, first off, tanning beds are DANGEROUS they cause skin cancer just like the sun, so don't do it anymore.

put some aloe-vera lotion and try vitamin e and cocoa butter too, don't pick, I did that and it left a big splotch of scar tissue on my chest.

Mostly you just have to sit it out...

aloe vera always works - i have fair skin too and i tan often. once you tan on a normal basis, you're skin will become more prone to it! don't worry, it's normal to burn a lot. i always burn under my butt cheeks and on my back. it's common but it'll go away soon :o)

Apply lots of aloe vera. And tan like the rest of us, in the natural sun which is far enough away to not fry you like tanning beds.

You probably have pretty fair skin and not a very high amount of melanin in your skin that makes you burn quicker and its common if your skin is not used to being tanned much, I have this same problem and have experienced it many times. Tanning, like anything else has to be done in stages and not just all at once for a long time, if you slowly incorporate more intense tanning machines then your skin will build a better tolerance. When I start a tanning cycle, I'll do 8 minutes in a regular bed for about 5 days, take 1 or 2 days off, then I'll do 9-11 minutes in an orbit for about 3 days and take 2 days off and then no more than 13-15 minutes in a starship bed for 2 or 3 days take 1 or 2 days off and then repeat the starship cycle until I have a good tan. I use a lotion that contains a very good bronzer that is strictly for indoor tanning and when Iam finished tanning I always shower to open up the pores. If you continue to burn, then stop until the burn goes away and if you want to try tanning again..go for a low amount of minutes in a regular bed and slowly develop your tan. Hope this helped.

try using aloe vera anything.. i have a lotion but i know you can buy soaps with it and stuff.. the lotion really works wonders for me.. also they make a sunburn spray. also ive noticed tanning bed burns dont hurt as much as reg burns.. prob b/c they arent as bad as you think they are.. especially if your a little tan already. maybe try a room temp-cold bath. . also try a pain med. like tylonol or asprin to get rid of the pain. it helps a little and if you have poison ivy med. rub it on you. i know you do have poison ivy but it has anti itch stuff it it. also if you are in your own home or whatever i recommend wearing mittons around. it will keep you from scratching yourself as much and dont tan for atleast 4 days!

OMG you need to go back to the tanning place and get your money back or something because your not supposed to be burnt you just supposed to tan. Next just treat it like you would any sun burn. Put Aloe Vera on it and dont scratch it rub it, well try not to. Hope you feel better!

You should go back to that tanning place and ask them what products to use. Like everyone else said, try using aloe vera on it. If this was your first time, your skin probably freaked out..so once you get this treated..next time you go it wont be as bad. I suggest you go to the doctor to have it checked out as well. Good luck !!

HI there,

Use lots of aftersun, preferably one with Aloe Vera!
Drink lots of water. If it starts to blister DO NOT pop them as this can cause you to scar.

If it gets really bad then go to see your doctor as he can provide creams that you can put on to a)Stop the itch and b)make it heal quicker.

Next time you go (if you decide to go again!) put sunscreen on , reduce the time you are in there for and the heat intensity.

Good luck

Mel
