I've never had vaginal intercourse, but about 6 years ago I fooled around with my first and only bf. I performed oral sex on him and also let him perform anal on me without using a condom.
I tell everyone that I'm still a virgin and saving myslef for my husband. No one knows about what I did with my ex bf.
Should I get tested for any STD's? Just to be on the safe side? I know it was 6 years ago. Also, what are the chances that I could have caught something?
DirtySchmageggie answered Thursday January 12 2006, 5:27 pm: I'm assuming that if you have not yet been tested that you have not been to a gynecologist either. If this is true it is high time to go! If you were sexually active six years ago then I assume you are at least around 20, so if you are and you haven't been to the gyno then it's really time to go. Just for your general health if anything. Please get tested. And if you can't afford a doctor then go to Planned Parenthood or your city's public health care provider. Then you can be assured that you're a healthy and pure as you want to be, and your body will thank you for looking after it as well.
attractive answered Wednesday January 11 2006, 11:26 pm: yes. some people have sex with other people amd dont realize that they have an std. some people aslo go ten or more years and die suddendly because they didnt get tested. also just because you didnt use a condom and it was your first time doesnt mean that you shouldnt get tested because he could have been with other girls wether he told you or not he could have had sex with many gurls and he not may not have told you why cause he wanted to have sex with you. and just because you use a condom doesnt mean that you cant get an std because you can a condom doesnt protect you from getting and std it protects you from getting pregnent. if i where you i would get and test because you never know what can happen you should get tested every two years or so just to be on the safe side. and also the next peron you have sex with use protection and make sure they take the test to see if they have any stds. because they may say there a virgin but they may not they may be but when you are born of your parent has aids or an std you can have ot to.so know who your with and good luck

extton answered Wednesday January 11 2006, 6:05 pm: Yeah. I'd get the whole work up - test for everything. The scariest STD's only show up much later, after infection. Like syphilis; it stays dormant for decades, and by the time the symptoms show up, it's already been eating away at your brain for a while. [ extton's advice column | Ask extton A Question ]
jamziix16 answered Tuesday January 10 2006, 4:28 pm: To be safe, I would get tested. Someone already said this below me, but some STD's do show no side affects. I'm sure the chances of an STD are sort of slim if you know he doesn't have an STD. Next time, use a condom while doing anal :o)
hope i helped!

ncblondie answered Tuesday January 10 2006, 12:10 pm: If you've had any type of sex (even anal or oral), you're at risk for an STD. Some STDs may show no symptoms so it's a good idea to be checked just to be on the safe side. If money is an issue, try your local health department or planned parenthood office. They usually offer free and low-cost testing. [ ncblondie's advice column | Ask ncblondie A Question ]
Honest_1 answered Tuesday January 10 2006, 9:00 am: You are stilll a virgin in the sense that your hymen iisn't broken. However, a technical virgin is one who has abstained from all forms of intercourse(including anal and oral). Really that doesnt matter; some may call you a virgin some may not. You should go get tested! There are still STDs that you may have contracted. HIV shows no symptoms for around ten years, Hepititis C is also only seen in the long term. However, don't worry yourself too much..think logically and get tested to be safe but your chances of being ill are slim. [ Honest_1's advice column | Ask Honest_1 A Question ]
ThugGirl041790 answered Tuesday January 10 2006, 1:44 am: Well it has been a very long while i would think you would of had signs of some sort of STD by now.. I would think the chances are very slim of having anything.. But if you want to be on the safe side get tested it won`t hurt anything.. And you are still considered a virgin in my opinion sweetie.. Umm I think if you want to get tested go to planned parenthood i think they do if for free.. Best of luck ♥ Dez [ ThugGirl041790's advice column | Ask ThugGirl041790 A Question ]
