Godmother?
What is a Godmother/Godfather?
Example: When your friend has a baby and wants you to be the Godmother.

Basically its if the mother and father die the Godmother and/or Godfather will take care of the baby. (Thats in my family though.) Usually, Godmothers just get the kid presents at Christmas (or hanukkah) and her Birthday.

When a friend wants you to be the baby's Godmother, It means that the Person wants you to babtize their child. A God mother/God Father, are the people that babtize your child. I Hope I Helped.

You have not read Harry Potter. The godparents raise the child if the parents are killed or are otherwise unable to care for the kid. Sirius Black was Harry's godfather.

If a situation was to happen where your parents/guardians died then your godmother and/or godfather would take care of you.

If anything was to happen to the parents/guardians then you would take care of the child. Also in the catholic religion the Godparent makes sure the child completes the sacraments.

Godparents are people that parents pick to raise their children if something were to happen to them. It's a Christian practice and the point of it is to make sure that your children are raised to know God. Parents can be sure that if they were to die their children would be raised in a Christian way because they choose people that they know well and trust to do this. Not all Christians have Godparents and I believe that Godparents are chosen at Baptism, but I haven't been to one in awhile so I'm not completely sure on that. I'm sure you can look up "Godparents" or "Baptism" on the internet to get more information on the subject. I hope I helped!

i have a godmother and a godfather.... ok.... so its kinda like your second guardian.... like say if both of your parents die.... then they will take care of you... and they help you in your life......as far as i understand

Um its a catholic thing is pretty much what I know.My mom is one and she's just the person that would take care of her best friend's child if anything happened to the parents.

When a person is chosen as a Godparent (godmother/godfather) it means that if anything were to happen to the parents of the baby, you would be the one to take care of them. If they were to, sadly, die then you would become the 'parent' or gaurdian if you want to get technically of the baby and you would basically be considered the mom or dad
