Model? 15/f
I really want to start modeling but I don't know how to start. I'm 5'5, have an hour glass figure, wear a size 5 jeans (if that helps?), I have light brown hair (it's cut in a "unique" but long style), dark brown (almost black) eyes, medium tan, round/squarish face, and if I were stereotyped I would be called "punk". Could I be a model? or should I just give up?

you can be a model and be "punk"!! never change yourself. there are tonss of fashion industries that are aimed towards rock and unique styles. i watch these shows all the time,and really you just have to be a good model,no matter the sterio. first,you'll need lessions. then, you might want to get an agent or a photographer to start your portfolio (book of pictures that you bring for the agency to look at) you'll be a shorter model, (usually there 5"7) but thats not bad.really,it takes a lot of work,and they'll ask you some pretty random stuff sometimes. if your really determined,then go for it! if you think its the one thing you want to do,no second thoughts,then its your passion. its busy,you have to walk around, rush to places (sometimes). i hope you make it & good luck!

of course you could be a model. If i were you though i would stop being punk and do something between the lines of preppy and just cute like try pink and stuff. if you really are looking into the model buisness go to www.johnrobertpowers.com also you could try looking in the yellow places for good modeling agencies like balzigan but i would recommend the website i told you to go to because thats how i got to be a model. >3 just remeber to be a model takes a lot of work and a lot of courage and you have to be able to stand up and let dorrys be slammed in your face and still go on. hi you can google something like "modeling jobs" or something like that cause i remember i looked it up and there was a whole bunch of sites where you could set up a profile of pics of yourself and modleing agencies view your profile.

okay im not saying that you cant be a model, personally, i think thats more realistic to the rest of the world if that was the steriotypical model (but its not) you COULD be a model - and i would go for it.. but.. prepare yourself for A LOT of critisism. if you arent ready for people critiging your every flaw, modeling could leave you with a self-esteem issue and lack of confidence. if you feel like your ready, then go for it, but dont expect to become famous and on magazine covers.. just yet anyway.. its highly unlikely. good luck w/ everything!

go to elitemodel.com and they can tell you exsactly what to do, the kind of pics to take, ect, and where to send them...but u need to be ATLEAST 5'6 if your 13 to 17 and if your 18 or older you need to be atleast 5'8...also they want VERY thin girls..but good luck!

to me you sound like you are very pretty you should not give up if it is your dream giving up wont make it come true and plus models get loads of money no i am sorry i dont know of any way to get started but doing research would help

How old are you? If you are under 25 and a size 5, then your chances are very, very slim. Many models of teenage age-range are either a size zero or size two. Unless you are strikingly beautiful, (like Tyra Banks whi is a size 8 and does Victoria's Secret) your chances are slim. Also where you live makes a huge difference. If you're in the middle of nowhere, you don't see this as much, but I live in Los Angeles and was a model and know of a few models, and also, all the girls out here are pretty much a size 0,1 or 3.
If I haven't yet discouraged you, Barbizon is a popular modeling company, and maybe you could apply with them.
Lastly how is your posture. I hate to see models who slouch, ever. I still walk like a model, Shoulders down and back and small powerful steps (runways aren't that big, but I never did runways).

russianspy seems to know what he's talking about... thing is everyone wants to be a model. my friend got "scouted" but she has to pay a ton of money to even start with risk of never actually getting a job. punk isn't exactly model-type but that might bring you some attention. hot topic needs models but i think you have to be a certain age (look on their website) goodluck with whatever you choose to do! <3

im sorry, while i am sure you are very attractive, the way you describe yourself you dont sound like model material. first off punk is not in for models, its in in high school, but not for models. second models these days are size 0 or 1. it gives girls an unnatural goal to try and obtain, and most guys do like girls a bit bigger, in the 4-6 range, but as for models its pretty standard to be 1 or 0. thirdly models tend to be taller than 5'5" but being 15 you arent finished growing yet. i suppose you could find some magazine or ad agency that is looking for punk models specificaly to model punk stuff and such, but unfortunately gereic modeling does not seem like the easiest route
