Some girls who participate in lots of sports or that exercise frequently may actually stop menstruating regularly; and that's all fine, dandy and normal.

Another thing to consider: have you been really stressed lately?? Stress is another reason someone might skip their cycle.

Also, eating disorders can cause this, definitely. What happens is, when a female is eating very little and getting thinner and thinner, Amenorrhea [the medical term for no periods] might set it.

Here's a thought for ya: an imbalance in some hormone levels can also lead to missed cycles or irregular bleeding.

..Just a few reasons I can come up with to justify this.

Also, if your period is fairly new to you, I wouldn't freak out quite yet. It may take a while for it to develop a stable pattern, and that's perfectly fine..

I really wouldn't worrie until you begin to have unusual and strange discharge/odor, unless physical pain is present, or if more than 6 months go by. I think then would be the time to consult a physician..

if you are just starting your period..
its normal.

There are several things that may cause your period not to coome regular. Hormonal imbalances can cause irregular periods. Have you started a new diet or exercise program? Are you under a lot of stress? If you're sexually active, there's a chance that you may be pregnant.

I would make an appointment with your ob/gyn for a full checkup. They're more experienced in female problems and can determine exactly what is going on and how to treat it.

Unless you're sexually active, this could mean you're pregnant. It usually means that your cycle is irregular and this tends to happen to many girls. It's normal to skip a period but it could be serious.

Well if your sexually active then you could be pregnant.. If your not sexually active then its probably normal if you haven`t been on your period that long.. If this is unnatural for you and you been on it for a while i`d see a doctor.. ♥ Dez

it could mean many things. if you are underweight, you can loose your period. you didnt say that youve had sex, but if you have then you could be pregnant. or if your young and have only had your period a few times, it could just be irregular and sporatic, with no real schedule. :)

Unless you are sexually active and never wore any type of birth control, then you shouldn't worry. Periods are irregular and you can skip them for like 3 months. If you don't get it after 3 months, go to a doctor.

hey hunni
if you've only just started your period then its most likely normal as they take a few years to settle into a pattern.

if youve been getting your period for a while and its always been regular before go see your doctor, he/she will give you advice and tell you what is wrong.

other things that could be causing this are:
- if you are eating less
- weight loss
- diet
- excercies
- stress

im sure its nothing though but its always better safe than sorry.

If you've had sex, you could be pregnant. If this is a possibility, you should get a home pregnancy test. You can get one for about $10.

Well unless you're sexually active then you have nothing to worry about. It's normal to skip a few periods or to be irregular, it just happens for a lot of girls. Although, if you ARE sexually active.. you could be pregnant. ♥
