Ok...I always wash my face once a day. Sometimes 2 times. I can't keep the zits from coming! I need help. How do you prevent zits and blackheads!!?!?!?!
Karen answered Thursday November 3 2005, 4:07 pm: Zits and blackheads are two common things that you'll get while you're maturing. You should try not to apply many products onto your face, since that could make it even worse. Try using a facial scrub or a deep cleaning cleanser that will help clean and remove dirt from your pores. This will help prevent zits from forming. St. Ives has a few cleansers and scrubs that work great. Wash your face daily and apply an oil-free moisturizer. I use Neutrogena's "Healthy Skin" face lotion and it has helped my skin from not breaking out every once in a while. [ Karen's advice column | Ask Karen A Question ]
FunnyCide answered Thursday November 3 2005, 12:20 pm: Zits are a part of normal maturing and puberty. Yes, it sucks. My mom (and my former youth pastor) have adult acne. That sucks even more.
Proactiv is supposed to be good... I don't know. But I've been using this stuff called AcneFree (Sams Club, $30) and it's supposed to be the same thing as Proactiv, only a lot cheaper. It seems to be working very well, and helps alot. I haven't had any breakouts since I started using AcneFree and my skin is much softer (thanks to the moisturizer that is part of the treatment).
I've gone through so many different kinds of washes and treatments, trying to get rid of my acne, or at least make it less noticeable. I even got some stuff perscribed from the doctor. It didn't help much at all. I've used Clearasil, Clean -n- Clear, Apricot Scrub, Avon, Clinique... you name it, I've probably tried it. The one thing that worked PERFECTLY? Antibiotics. I'm serious. I had my ear lanced a few months back (it was infected) and I was given antibiotics to clear up the infection. The antibiotics also cleared up the acne, because they killed the bacteria that cause pimples. However, it is rare that a doctor will give you antibiotics simply because you have acne. Some girls are put on birth control because it will help clear up acne, but there are side-effects with that too.
You could try AcneFree, because it has really helped me. I felt so awkward with pimples all over my face, but now I don't because I know people aren't staring at my "third eye" or the huge zit on my nose. ;)
Wash your face morning and night to help keep bacteria away from your face. Try not to touch your face. Wash your hands often.
When you do have a pimple, put hot compresses on it. (Rags soaked in hot water) This will draw the bacteria out and you can drain the pimple, then put Polysporin (a strengthened version of Neosporin) on it so it will heal. If a pimple isn't ready to be drained, put ice on it to make it smaller. Use Pollysporin or Neosporin on acne scabs or scars to help them heal better.

Also, if you're willing to entertain the idea of a facial, those are awesome. Certain types target specific problems, so make sure to read the label. It's a fun, easy and CHEAP way to renew your skin. I usually get some friends together and make a night of it, but that's just me. :P If you're interested though, we keep it simple.. and use:

-Don't touch your face.
-Wash your hands & face
-Get a face wash
-Give yourself a facial.
-Get a warm hot towel and put it over the pimple...it should get a whitehead in a few mins then pop it.
-Use ICE to make big pimples smaller. [ queenhearts's advice column | Ask queenhearts A Question ]

Keep washing your face and if they keep coming ask your doctor or school nurse if there is any product that may help you. [ irishgal000's advice column | Ask irishgal000 A Question ]
Teza answered Wednesday November 2 2005, 8:23 pm: Zits are a natrual thing while you are still growing and maturing. You simply just can't make them go away but you can make your skin healthier and clearer. You don't need to buy all those things like Clearasil or whatever, wash your face with Dove every night and day and use good face lotion. If you keep it up your family will be healthier. urmomsachltcvrddnt answered Wednesday November 2 2005, 8:16 pm: Yeah, I used to have a little zit problem and I couldn't stand them. I strongly recomend Clearasil daily scrub (or something) and also the cleansing pads. For moisturizer, I recomend just regular aloe gel. Good luck!
DaNcExBabii answered Wednesday November 2 2005, 7:53 pm: You can go to a dermitoligist and they will pop them for you in the right way and remove them for you and also give you some perscription pills and face washes also you should try proactive it will take a few weeks to strat working, but after a while it will really strart to help.
Christineadvice4you answered Wednesday November 2 2005, 7:49 pm: I hate that! I do the same but then whenever I get rid of one bad zit another one pops up somewhere else... it's tragic!
I use daily cleaning pads... any kind words well. Stridex or Clearsil... both work well for me! Hope that helped!
