Nothing is wrong at all. You're just having trouble figuring out "who you are." don't worry about labels. they're overrated anyway. if you stick to a label then people will expect you to always go by the rules of that label, and that's no fun. I really like rock music and 'emo' and stuff but i love shopping and i love being "girly". if you're not a little bit girly then that kinda takes the fun out of being a girl. you can be both. do what feels right. don't let your music define you.

What??? Okay that's just ridiculous. Talk to your mother. You sound like a very responsible girl, so tell her that there is no way you'll go off and have sex. This probably won't work. But, if you have to do behind her back, there's really no way she can find out, unless you're not careful. If you have a cell, then have him call you on that. When you go out with him somewhere, go in big groups with friends. When you get caught, that's usually when you get her to cave. Explain to her that you really like this boy and nothing has happened, like you haven't had sex and you're not pregnant. Unless she's really...uh, i don't want to say bitchy....you get it, she'll understand. Maybe she's had a really scary experience with a guy at your age and doesn't want this to happen to you. If you really don't want to *betray* your mother, then that's your choice. Hello everyone,
I am going to be getting a bird (cockatiel). I was wondering if anyone has had this breed or another breed of bird and can lend me some tips! Also I am bilding a bird-perch and I am having some trouble with thinging of home items to use. Like (strings, wood, ect.) Or any other ideas. Ok i don't personally have a bird but a friend of mine has one and i guess since i can't help you THAT much i could volenteer the little advice that i have because i'm just nice like that.
The perch that my friend has is made by her dad and it looks like a T and has a jar lid as a food tray thingy on it so that would be a good idea. Personally i recomend just buying one because if you make it it might brake and that wouldn't be good.
Just one more thing. When you go to approach the bird, move slowly so you don't scare it, unless you want it to bite you. As you approach, slowly raise your hand and just sort of talk to it so it doesn't get startled. I know, i'm not much of a help but...I'm really not doing anything else. Happy holidays!

i feel really stupid for askng this but, i don't know, i THINK i feel desperate!!! i don't know. i've LIKED ALOT of people in the past and even now!! i think i'm ugly but some people think i'm "pretty"( i THINK ppl. say that because they just wanna boost my self esteem.) no boy ever thought i was pretty. A lot of people have this problem, and maybe you're overreacting. If people say you're pretty, they probably think you are. But back to your question.
Clothes-wise, you basically want stuff that looks good on you (yeah like that helps lol). Try stores like Forever 21, they have the cutest tops. Hollister, Abercrombie, and American Eagle are really good, if you have the money. Try aeropastel, they have really nice jeans for good prices.
Makeup. Right, you want CVS. They have EVERYTHING. Don't use too much makeup, it's scary. Just go for eyeliner, mascara, some blush (unless you have naturally rosy cheeks then stay away from it), lip gloss, and concealer if you need it (do not overuse, it can be bad)
As for hair, most people look really good with their hair straightened. It can take up to 1 1/2 hours, and you might have to get up really early, but it's worth it. Especially if you have a really good straightener. They have good ones also at CVS, probably for about $35. Scrunch it (get scrunching gel, i'm not really sure where to get it), or put it in a ponytail with a bow (the ones from build a bear lol), it looks really cute.
Try to be confident. Walk with your head up and swish your hips a little. Be a little flirty. And don't worry so much!!! Sorry this is so long...lol.

what???? ok, white on toenails looks okay, and so does red. you can go for pink on your nails, but sometimes it looks tacky. depends on the red. i would use pink on nails and white or toenails or same with red. white can look okay on nails but it depends on your skin tone. the darker your skin, the better it looks. also, red looks good on paler skin (with pale skin it's also easier to pull off red lipstick, which i really hard to do lol) pink always looks good on nail and toenails. go with what goes the best with your outfit. hehe i guess my answer was pretty confusing too...

OK so im a 14 year old .. im pretty over weight. I'm like like a DD too, and im really self conscience about it. I also have a sweating problem, so w/e i wear i have huge stains under my arms. Im a tomboy .. but i still wanna wear jeans and a nice sweater sometimes! So, i dont think boys like me .. like at all. How can i look better and more cute, and feel more confident about myself? ok, well about the sweating, try some good antipersperant, and if that doesn't work, ask your parents if you can go see a doctor. don't worry about having big boobs, no one really makes a big deal about it if they're big, just if they're really small ;) but not really. don't sweat it (pardon the pun). If you're looking for cute clothes, try abercrombie, american eagle, aeropastel, or forever 21. target isn't bad, either.
As for confidence, smile a lot, walk with your head up, and have a little swagger. talk to a lot of people. just go up to people that look that they'd be nice and just say hi and talk about random funny stuff. there's nothing to it. good luck with that honey!

ok. my bf and i just recently broke up. we have a dance coming up and we were going to go. he lives in a different town than me. so we were going to go to his on the 21 and mine on the 22. they changed his to the 22 too. so his mom said he had to go to the one in his town. we have talked only once since the breakup. but we are ok-ish with eachother. we had a hard breakup. when we were talking about his dance. he was like ill take you but i want to wait and see. and i was like if someone else asks you. and he said ya. and i was like ok. and he was like ya but ill most likely take you. and i was like probally not. cuz a lot of girls like you and want to go with you. and he was like o ya i forgot. do you think he just doesnt want to go with me. Is it true that if your period is abnormal .. like it is a period that you never expect it to come and it skips a few months .. that you won't be able to have a baby when you get olderI'm 15 and I started my period at March (9 months ago) And I haven't had it since July (5 months ago) And I know there isnt anything wrong with me because my friend is the same way and her doctor said there is nothing wrong with her. And I read articles about your period not getting regular until a year after. But my question is .. Does this mean I won't be able to have kids? Because I want them and I don't want that to happen! Hah, no. Yeah, it takes a year on average for your period to become regular (i think a year, maybe a little longer??). There are different things that affect your period. I read somewhere that if you change environments (like if you go to camp or something) then your period might go away until you come back or something. Don't worry about the not being able to have kids thing. it's not true.

I went on a date with this guy that had liked me for a long time.
The date was at a local restaurant. He was starting to look a little bored so I tried to use humour to lighten the mood.
I told him that sometimes my dad shaves his face with an electric razor when he's driving. I thought this was hilarious, and other people that I've told also thought it was quite funny.
Well his reaction? He gave me the dirtiest look and never said a word. I felt really stupid.
But I didnt think what I said was that bad.

Just curious, what's the gift for? Not that she won't appriciate it, if you get her too many gifts, she'll probably feel uncomfortable, but i guess it depends on the girl. She'll feel bad b/c she didn't get you anything. weird huh?
If you're going to get her a gift, make it something special, rather than something flashy and expensive, so i guess that's good for you since you don't have that much money. remember, the little things mean the most. Try a cute stuffed animal that has a corny little saying. Or just something else that's basically cute. Try 5 and below. or 7-11. the last time i was there they had little "I love you" bears and glass roses. good luck, finding good gifts is really hard.

Not that this needs to be figured out like, now, but I figured I'd ask you guys for your opinions. I'm 18/f, he's 20/m if it matters.
There's a dance coming up here, and I want to go, because I love dances - they're fun, and an excuse for me to get overdressed, lol.
The problem is my boyfriend really isn't much of a dancer. I don't really want to go alone. I hinted to him that there was a dance and my friend was trying to convince me to go, but he didn't really say anything on the subject.
So - I guess what I really wanna know is if I should ask him to come with me anyway, even though he doesn't really like dances, or if I should just go alone.

I think either would be fun.
Your boyfriend should like you enough to go anywhere with you and have fun. And if he doesn't like dances, show him a good time and that they're fun. Maybe he's had bad experiences.
it's really cool if you have your boyfriend for the dance, especially if he's not the jealous type and hogs you. it's great because you always have someone for the slow dances :).
On the other hand, going by yourself would be a good option. You'd be able to spend time with your friends and not feel obligated to be with your boyfriend for the whole time. dances can be a lot more fun if you're not tied down.

Haha, yeah, you're right, most girls I know don't like hairy guys, although there are some exceptions. They shouldn't care, but most girls are shallow (about all girls are a little). Try getting it waxed; I can imagine it'd be hard to wax your own back.....

Take a washcloth and soak it in really hot water (as hot as you can take it). Put the cloth on you face and keep it there for a while. This will draw the puss to the surface. After you do this, put a small amount of alcohol on it (not too much or it will dry out your skin) so it will dry up the puss.
If it's embarassing you, use concealer. But then again, I don't know if you're a girl or guy, as you haven't specified.

Ok so i asked a question a few weeks ago about doing something with a rose for Xmas for my girlfriend and i got alot of positive feedback about it.. you might of read it.. had to do with a glass rose? well if not i decided to change it up a bit, tell me how you(a girl) would feel if your boyfriend did something like this for Xmas::
Along with your other presents, brough over a vace we 11 roses in it, and one glass rose, making a dozen roses total. And put a card in there that says, "I will stop loving you when the last rose dies." Haha, you do have a point. I'm a young teen myself (13) and I know that most of my peers ask very stupid questions and often use irritating chatspeak or stick caps.
Personally, it ticks me off too, and I should be used to it. The majority of people who tend to ask for advice are teens because they tend to make big deals out of little problems and have (for some reason) a hard time figuring out which questions have OBVIOUS answers and don't even need to be asked.
If you want to answer adult questions, go on the search page and find the box that has "questions asked my adults" or whatever it says. If you don't want annoying people who have no idea what they're talking about answering your questions, say so, because people don't tend to answer if they think they might get a low rating. Remember, not everyone here is bad at giving advice/asking for advice, and there's always those couple wise people who end up really helping you. There's one person who's in my favorites, if you want to check out his column. Good luck finding a new site, and I hope it doesn't get invaded. Heh.

Take jogs, do a sport (cheerleading reall gets you into shape if you join a team that trains you).
My friend holly lost 45 pounds in the past 4 or 5 five months. She did basketball and cheerleading and crunches. If you really want to lose weight, then you have to stick with you excercise program. Good luck hun!

I was looking through a few questions on religion (Not a darn clue why, I just was) and I was reading a question about a girl who wanted to become Buddist.
An answer she recieved made me a little upset. This person that answered kept saying how she was choosing the wrong religion and that being Buddist is wrong.
I've noticed things like this before, strong Christians (yes, it is mostly Christians) criticizing other religions. They will rant on and on about how it's the wrong religion.
What is so wrong with believing in Buddah? Why do you have to criticize people who do not believe in God? We have the right to choose our religion and the right to choose no religion at all.
Why do you believe that your religion is the only "right" religion? This has been bothering me for a while.
I really don't want any Christians on this site to feel that I am directing this ONLY at you. But what I've seen on this site about 90% of the people criticizing people for their religion are strong Christians. So, I'm just basing my question on the majority.

That's a great point. It does seem that it's mostly strong christians who critizise other religions. I'm an athiest and I get people coming to me and debating stuff with me and it's really annoying.

If she dumped him, then why should she care if you go out with him? It ususally only matters if HE dumps HER. I've been in that situation where I've liked my friend's ex. She was cool with it. If you're still worried, talk to your friend about it.

i am so confused with this Boy his name is alex and well...i think he likes me but i am not certain of that.he is kinda cute though. here are some reasons why i think he likes me

Well, this could mean a lot of things. Here's two:
he could like you
OR
he could just want to be friends.
Guys are really hard to understand, and to make it even more complicated, every guy is different about how he acts when he likes a girl. Ask him out, and see what happens. You could end up with a really great guy, or you could choose to not ask him out, and end up living in confusion. It's your choice. He sounds like a hard guy to read correctly.
