Question Posted Monday November 14 2005, 7:27 pm

I had this zit on my cheek, and popped it (sort of). It was one of those deep ones. It's really red now and there is still a bumb. Is there any way to make the red go away and the bump to go down?

I heard somewhere that if you dab visine on it, the redness will go (mostly)away. As for the bump, using and OXY cloth on them makes them go down slightly for me. Hope I helped.

Take a washcloth and soak it in really hot water (as hot as you can take it). Put the cloth on you face and keep it there for a while. This will draw the puss to the surface. After you do this, put a small amount of alcohol on it (not too much or it will dry out your skin) so it will dry up the puss.

If it's embarassing you, use concealer. But then again, I don't know if you're a girl or guy, as you haven't specified.

take a wash cloth and run it under HOT water [as hot as you can stand] and hold that on the zit for like 30 seconds then run it under hot water again and repeat this for like 6-7 times

Use an acne product on it and then leave it alone! It will go away soon enough. If you do too many things to it, it will get irritated and stay like that for even longer. Good luck!

Get something frozen (ice pack, icecube, etc.) And put it on there to get rid of some of the swelling. To get rid of the redness, you might try toothpaste to dry it out a little (sounds odd..but it DOES work) And Green Concealer works best to cover them up the rest of the way (yellow concealer is for like Dark circles and bruises and stuff) (Green is for redness -- hickeys, zits and stuff)

That should work .. If not .. sorry. You'll just have to wait it out.
And if it doesnt go away, dont mess with it, or itll just scab over and look even worse and take longer to heal.

Good luck!!

I read this is Cosmo this month. Take a cotton ball, soak it in water, and put it in the freezer. Then take it out when it's frozen and hold it on the red area. This brings the swelling down, but may not reduce redness. For a quick fix, try using a yellow-based concealer (look for words like "golden" or "warm" when buying" to take care of the redness.
