FunnyCide answered Thursday October 13 2005, 7:32 pm:
When you're on The Pill, or any other birth control method, it is not promised 100% sure to keep you from getting pregnant. Some birth control meds are better than others, some methods are better than others, but still, not one of them promises 100% safety.

You're probably okay, though.

I'm sure you know this, but birth control doesn't prevent or protect against STDs... just be careful.

You probably have a 1% chance of getting pregnant. That 99% chance of not getting pregnant is quite large. You probably don't have anything to worry about.

it is not 100% positive that you will get pregnate, even if you werent on birthcontrol. and since you are... its a less chance, but its a really scary situation. you should go see a doctor. and next time USE A CONDOM.

No birth control will claim 100% effectiveness. 99% is pretty good though.

Your probably okay. You just have to be careful of STDs because birth control pills don't do anything to prevent those ( which I'm sure you know). :)

Julie126 answered Thursday October 13 2005, 6:54 pm:
You are only 16, you should not be having sex. I am 23 and I have still not had sex. Just to let you know it is not because I am ugly or fat or whatever reason you may think. The reason I have not had sex is because I value myself and I know there are things I want to do before I have childern. The risk of getting pregnant is not worth having sex,and abortion is not the answer. You also need to understand that sex can wait and that you need to pay more attention to your schooling. That way when you have an education and yes even a college degree, and get married if or when you do become pregnant you will be able to afford and take care of the child the way you should.
It is pretty digusting that your parents have given you the permission to be having sex. It seems like they do not have either trust in you making the right choices in your life or they have just given up on you.
You may think you know everything, but believe me you do not and nobody else does not either. Everyone learns something new everyday of their lives. So maybe, just maybe today after you read this you can learn to keep you legs closed and wait until you are married before you have sex. It is a better choice then the one you are making now.

Well, it says it in the name. BIRTH CONTROL. It helps prevent unwanted pregnancies. Birth control DOES NOT work 100% of the time, however it is very reliable. Depending on the brand you take, it could be 96-99.9% effective. So the likelyhood of you becoming pregnant isn't that big. Your chances are small, but I advise you to be much more careful next time if you don't want to have minature versions of you or your boyfriend running around in th near future.

sizzlinmandolin answered Thursday October 13 2005, 6:05 pm:
You should probably know a little more about birth control if you're taking it, but what birth control does is it tricks your body into thinking it's pregnant. It releases hormones to do this and because of these hormones your ovaries do not release eggs. Egg and sperm have to meet for you to become pregnant. It's really hard to get pregnant even if you aren't using any kind of protection at all because only one egg is released every month (about halfway between periods. There's a span of only a few days when it's even possible to get pregnant and then sometimes the sperm don't even make to the egg before they die. Birth control is NOT 100% effective, but it's really close, it depends on what exactly you are using, but it's normally about 99% effective. As long as you take your pills when you are supposed to EVERY TIME you are supposed to exactly when you are supposed to there is basically no chance of you being pregnant. I will give you some advice though...use a condom anyways ;-). Hope I was able to clear some things up for you!

You need to speak with your doctor about things like this because if you do not already know the answer to the question you could quite possibly not be using your birth control method properly, or don't understand it.

You are 99% protected by the pill as LONG AS YOU ARE USING IT CORRECTLY. (Example: taking it at the same time everyday.) Do not fret, you should be fine, though. Honest. Have your boyfriend wrap it up next time - to prevent any worries. Thats going to be your biggest problem - is the worries. So just WRAP IT UP! Its a lot less scary that way.

hey
if your on birth control everything SHOULD be ok
but if this is the first time you've not used protection (i assume you didnt) and you or him have had sexual relationships in the past i recomend you both have a STD (STI) test... i dont know where you live (im assuming USA) lol but its worth taking emergency contraception like the morning after pill (in UK .. im not sure about USA)
hope ive helped

Most birth control is almost 99% accurate... depending on the method and brand you are using! like pill, patch, shot etc... i'm sure your fine.. but remember for dOubLe the saftey.. have your guy wear a condom! and if your really scared about pregnency, take the morning after pill!
