i'm 13 years old and i'm only 4'11. i only have like 2 years left to grow (yes i've had my period already) and i really want to be at least 5'1 or something. if i have to spend the rest of my life being under 5 feet, i'll hate it a lot. i know to some people it may not seem like such a big deal but it kind of is to me. my parents are normal height so i don't know whats wrong?? so how can i get taller? like what should i eat? vitamins? thanks
The_MoUsY_spell_checker answered Wednesday October 5 2005, 8:09 am: While this will not guarantee that you grow tall, you should:
1: Make sure that you have a balanced diet. It is especially important that you get enough protein, but vitamins and minerals are also important. Milk is also supposed to help you grow. (Of course, don't drink milk if you're lactose intolerant)
2: Make sure that you get enough sleep. If you're 13 you need about 10 hours of sleep each night if possible.
3:Exercise a lot. Basketball and anything that involves jumping is supposed to help you grow taller. This will also help you sleep better at night. I know that it's not easy to sleep 10 hours every night, especially since it would very likely mean that you will have to go to bed earlier than you want to. cha_yeah answered Wednesday October 5 2005, 1:29 am: hmmm. being 4'11" and 13 years old isnt really abnormal. so you shouldnt worry about it too much. but if you want to grow taller, you should just eat healthy and keep well excercized and energized. you might just be one of those people who grow later than other people, so if youre healthy, aging will probably bring your height up [ cha_yeah's advice column | Ask cha_yeah A Question ]

JazziJazz answered Tuesday October 4 2005, 11:02 pm: There's no way to make your self get taller unless you want to use steroids wich is a really bad idea, plus you don't stop growing till your 18 some people even grow up to when their 19 it depends on the person. sizzlinmandolin answered Tuesday October 4 2005, 10:47 pm: You could easliy grow up to two inches more. I did! I was really happy about it too at the time. Now though, height doesn't really seem to matter that much. Once you've been the same height for awhile you get used to it and it doesn't really bother you anymore. I'm actually kind of mad that I grew two inches more now, because my boyfriend is only about two inches taller than me...I can't wear all my heels anymore! I don't think there's much you can do about it and if there is it's probably not going to be effective at all. My best advice for you is to wish to be taller if you want, but not to worry so much about it and to be happy with who you are. I know a lot of shorter girls that are really pretty and really happy with themselves. Feel better, you're not alone! [ sizzlinmandolin's advice column | Ask sizzlinmandolin A Question ]
