Question Posted Tuesday October 4 2005, 9:17 pm

sometimes, even if i'm having a good day and everything, i just feel depressed. i feel like no one likes me. then i think that i should get really skinny (why? i have no idea!) i just think... tomorrow i'm going to wake up at 5, run, exercise, and shower... (and stuff like that) and so i'd get really skinny... (weird, i know) and other times i *think* about sutting my wrists, i never have and i'm scared... so do i have a case of depression???

Hey darling. I'm sorry you're feeling this way. I'm glad that you came here for advice..that was a very smart idea. However, nobody on here can diagnose you with depression. If you're having thoughts of harming yourself, or any thoughts that you know might be dangerous to your physical or mental well being (unnecessary diets, over-exercising), then you should definitely tell your parents or guardians and get them to schedule an appointment for you with a psychologist. You may or may not be clinically depressed. You could also show symptoms of other psychological disorders. The point is, you should try to get help from somebody who is a professional and knows what they're doing.

Don't worry, babe. I know a lot of times people associate seeing a psychologist with being crazy. But that's not the case at all. A lot of people out there could use some help from a psychologist; be it the diagnosis and treatment of a disorder, or just going and talking to somebody who won't judge them. Admitting that you need help doesn't make you weak. It makes you an intelligent person who cares about herself and wants to get better.

Please don't make any assumptions about your mental health until you have seen a psychologist who may or may not diagnose you with something. And don't take to heart anything that people say on here, because unless they're licensed in the psychology field, they are in no position to be diagnosing you with anything.

Also, I really doubt that people don't like you. I'm sure you're a wonderful girl. Good luck to you, and I hope that you get some help and are feeling better very soon. Love ya darling. Best wishes.
