Whenever I try to put in a tampon, it won't work because there seems to be this flap of skin just past the opening. Even if I use the smallest size. What do I do?

Jessica13 answered Wednesday October 5 2005, 2:45 pm: well that flap might be your hymen because before you have sex or if you are a virgin there is a flap right before the opeing of your vagina and a way to break that is to just put a tampon in it might hurt a bit but it won't damage anything ok i hope i helped

cheddar answered Tuesday October 4 2005, 10:15 pm: if it's just past the opening, that's not your hymen. you don't have to break your hymen to use a tampon. try reading the directions on the paper in the tampon box.. because you're definitely not putting it in at the right angle.
