It's nothing to do with your size. Actually, you get your period about the same times as your mother did, so if you're concerned, just ask her around when she got hers.

No, it's not true...it's genetic, but big girls generally get their period sooner. I was 10 when I got my first, and I was only like 70 lbs

nope i dont believe that.. it isnt true. everyones body grows a different speed some faster then others that is why each person starts there period at a different time.

EvilCheshire answered Wednesday September 21 2005, 8:13 pm:
It just depends on when your body develops. I have no idea if you have to hit a certain weight or not.

I was 14 or 15.. a very late bloomer... when I got my first period and I was pretty chunky when friends of mine were a lot thinner and got theres as soon as 12 or 13.

Yeah, actually most girls get it when they weigh about 100 lbs. I read it in a magazine, it's a scientific fact.

I've never heard that rumor before, but I can assure you that it's just the way your body develops and has nothing to do with your size.

malibubarbiie111 answered Wednesday September 21 2005, 6:56 pm:
it is true. because the "bigger" you are, the faster your body has room, & stuff to fully support an unborn baby. it`s more like to see a 120lb girl have a baby then a 95 lb girl. the smaller bodies aren`t ready to support a baby.

K2204 answered Wednesday September 21 2005, 6:44 pm:
it doesnt have to do with that. it may seem like it does sometimes, but it just depends on you and your body! :)
