my cramps have been so bad all day its horrible i cant focus on my homework. what can i do/take. i dont rlly have ne special stuff like midol. but like advil nd tylonal type of stuff ;).
You have many options here: It's well known that regular physical activity helps reduce the cramping in some women, so there's an idea. You could also try taking a warm bath and using aromatherapy. Applying a heating pad on your lower abdomen or back should do wonders. If you don't have a heating pad, you can make one by simply filling a sock with rice and heating it in the microwave for a few minutes [must sound silly, but if the cramps get bad enough, it just might be worth it]. Also, many women start taking pills around the clock from the time their cycle starts, until it ends. Any pain killer will do, but I reccommend Ibuprofen, Extra StRength Advil or Midol -- it's also best to take medication will a meal, that way the risk of stomach discomfort is slimmed. jenymca answered Friday September 16 2005, 6:06 am: if you do some stretches, also take a warm bath, then just lay down and try to get rid of it. I know exercising is good for the cramps. [ jenymca's advice column | Ask jenymca A Question ]

Ladyofthemoon answered Tuesday September 13 2005, 9:08 pm: If you have the time, you canmake a little reusable pillow for your cramps, this is what I did for my daughter. Make the little pillow out of a soft material and fill it up with rice. When you have cramps, thrown it in the microwave for a couple of minutes and lay it on your tummy. The rice stays heated up for quite a long time and always seems to help her. [ Ladyofthemoon's advice column | Ask Ladyofthemoon A Question ]
Saynotogymclass answered Tuesday September 13 2005, 7:26 pm: I always find putting a warm waterbottle of your abodomin helps. Go to sleep with it, but just make sure it doesn't spillall over your bed(that happened once)! Also, excercising minimized cramps so maybe go for a run!! Tylonol may help for some people but steer away from advil and asperin because i've heard that is dangerous! [ Saynotogymclass's advice column | Ask Saynotogymclass A Question ]
falliingxagain answered Tuesday September 13 2005, 6:12 pm: Alright well thats how I was. So I went to the gynocologist and got put on birth control and Ponstel. If those don't work you could have an ovarian cyst. Which, dont worry about those - I've had several. They just rupture and go away on their own. Its nothing serious. Its just a fluid build up. Birth control really works wonders, as does Ponstel. So check with your mom - tell her the problem, and ask her to get you an appointment. Heating pads work really well, also! LittlePip answered Tuesday September 13 2005, 5:55 pm: Well, I'm not going to tell you to take medicine or have a bath, like everyone else.
First off, why would you have a bath when you're on your period? Isn't that a bit gross?
Secondly, you don't need to take a tonne of pills to make the cramps better.
I say, take a hot water bottle and put it right against where it hurts. If you can, why not try a bit of excersise? Its a common known fact that excercise can help to ease your cramps, and if its a competetive sport it will take your mind off it.
Drink plenty of water through out the day and at night, prop yourself up on some pillows so the blood will flow downwards instead of swishing away in your body.

xomegaroni answered Tuesday September 13 2005, 5:49 pm: that sucks! ok what you can do is get a heating pad, er juss a wash cloth & put it where it hurts. if not, take a warm bath/shower & it will probably relieve it. running helps also & make sure you lay straight out even if it hurts more. tomorrow will probably be better.
xXxpinky615xXx answered Tuesday September 13 2005, 5:23 pm: Take either 2 advil or 2 tylenol. Whichever your prefrence. If you have Tylenol extra strength, you might want to take that.
Teza answered Tuesday September 13 2005, 5:22 pm: You need to take a warm bath. It always helps me and it will just make you feel better. In health class, my cramps were so bad and my P.E teacher told me I need to drink milk because it will make the cramps go away. It actually did even though I hate milk. Eat healthyer now. Don't load up on junk food and exercise. But before that take a nice long warm bath. You don't really need Midol or Tylonol or anything but Advil works. Hope you feel better.
