Freshie + Senior = ?

Question Posted Friday August 26 2005, 2:42 am

Hey, I was just wondering what you guys thought about a freshman in highschool dating a senior because i've really started to like this guy and he likes me too. Is it too big of an age difference? Will people start spredding rumors about me "giving" him something for him to b going out with me?

Its fine. Just as long as you both like each other. And ignore what people say. As long as you and your friends no its not true. Its not a big age difference theres a bigger difference. I was reading some questions before and some 15 year old and a 12 year old. So dont worry that age different is nothing compare to that ! hope i helped.

It will be illegal for you to have sex with him. Hanging out is probably ok though. Just don't make your parents angry, or he could be arrested.

i think its fine as long as you both like each other. when i was a freshman..14/15 years old..my mom probably would not have liked ME dating a senior.,..but all parents are different. i think its fine as long as its a healthy relationship and you both like each other.

yes, people may spread rumors. its the way high school works..rumors are spread..lies are spread..drama..its all apart of highh school.. ignore those who are jealous..have nothing better to do than spread rumors..ignore it all..they will eventually fade..hopefully you will be lucky and no rumors will spread.

It's only 3 years difference, and it might seem like a big difference now, but most people marry with a bigger age difference than that anyway. But it's definitely not to big of an age difference, beause girls mature faster than guys anyway, so most girls do start to date 2 or 3 year older guys in high school. And I'm not going to lie to you, people MIGHT start to say stuff, beacuse it hsa happened to me and a bunch of my friends when we dated older guys. but you really can't let it get to you, because you know its not true, and the people who will probably most likely say it are either guys in your grade or girls in his, and they are just jealous. Don't let what otherpeopel say interfere with it, because i definitely think you should go for it!! GOOD LUCK HUN!

If you guys really like each other, who cares about the rumors people spread?? Yes, there are probably going to be some, but there's not much that you can do about it. If you guys want to date, then date!! [= Good luck!

You should always do what you want to do, regardless of what anyone else thinks. Don't give up a chance of happiness just because of what other people might think.
Yes, you would have to be willing to deal with rumours. People will probably talk, but then again people always have something to say about anything!

Go for it. =)

Mengers answered Friday August 26 2005, 9:11 am:
I highly disagree, when I was a senior all the guys that went out with a freshman only did so for one reason. I know this for fact too, but every school is different and you shouldn't let what other people think bother you. Seniors and freshmen have always been arch rivals around here and the only connection they could have was sexual.

But like I said, your school may be different and your relationship may be different. I would expect rumors to spread however. Just remember, he's a senior who is soon to graduate and probly go to college. College and high school are completely different and from my observations and experience that diffence in education level has broken up more relationships than it has made them stronger.

I think its okay. If you like each other then by all means do so. I don't know any reason why others would start silly rumors unless it was out of jealousy. I wouldn't let that stop you if you really have feelings for him. Doubt its gonna happen. Good luck! :)

Mackenzie answered Friday August 26 2005, 3:14 am:
So you're new to high school, and if you haven't already found out, you will soon... that high school isn't as immature and petty as television makes it seem. A senior to freshman is no big deal; it happens all of the time. No one will think or say anything of it. Don't sweat it! If you like this guy, go for it!! Don't ever ever ever let people take something away from you which means so much!! =]
