VainTaraLynn answered Thursday August 25 2005, 4:33 am: With this sort of thing, if your embarassed you might wnat to be casual about it. Be like "Hey mom, when you run to the store could you buy me some pads / tampons" Dont make it a big deal, crying type of deal, lol. That makes it sort of awkward, [ i would kno my mom announced it when we were out to dinner on mothers day, eek! ], lol. [ VainTaraLynn's advice column | Ask VainTaraLynn A Question ]
LoveNJstyle answered Tuesday August 23 2005, 6:35 pm: my friend shouted out "mom...im a woman now.." when they were in the car. ive heard people that are at a store and just ask if they can get pads/tampons/midol. or just take some of hers and then be like, it was an emergency then ask if you can go buy some with her. hope that helps and dont worry about it...shes a woman too! <3 [ LoveNJstyle's advice column | Ask LoveNJstyle A Question ]
sunnyville answered Tuesday August 23 2005, 2:54 pm: My mom always said"When you start bleeding down there don't get scared and when you have a question you could ask me about it anytime".So after I got my period for the first time I asked her"Does it hurt a lot when you have your period?"And she told me it does sometimes but that I'll get used to it.So you shouldn't feel embrassed to tell your mom she has it too she is also a female like you nad she had experience on it.You have nothing to worry about trust me.Just talk to her about it calmly. o0xbrianna answered Tuesday August 23 2005, 12:52 pm: That's how I was. What I said to my mom was "Uhh mom I think I got my period" Lol just be blunt about it. You are going to have to tell her sometime. Tell her that you don't need a lecture on it because you know what to do and so on. [ o0xbrianna's advice column | Ask o0xbrianna A Question ]
devilspawn_666 answered Tuesday August 23 2005, 12:25 pm: I think the best way to do it is to ask your mom if she can get you a box of tampons/pads the next time she's at the store. That's a little more discreet than running in the room shouting "Mom, I got my period!". Your mom was your age once, so she knows how embarassing it is to talk to your parents about personal issues. She's probably a little apprehensive about talking to you about it too. Look at it this way, once you talk to her about it, you'll never have to do it again for as long as you live. You might as well just get it done now and avoid worrying about it. [ devilspawn_666's advice column | Ask devilspawn_666 A Question ]

baby_girl33 answered Tuesday August 23 2005, 11:26 am: This is kind of a wierd subject. One idea is when she goes to the grocery store and she's making a list, just say i want some cereal, face wash and...oh yeah some tampons/pads whatever. Then just play it off like its not that big of a deal and she prolly will tel you a bunch of stuff you already know like why you have period and stuff like that, but it only lasts like one day and then she will just not worry about it. She has been doing it for years, it a natural thing.
Hope this helps you.

xRoOxiSxBlOnDex answered Tuesday August 23 2005, 10:10 am: If you aren't comfortable telling her, go by yourself tampons or pads. Otherwise, you need to just tell her. More than likely, she'll be all "MY BABY'S GROWING UP!!" [= Good luck.

MeadowLark answered Tuesday August 23 2005, 9:58 am: Maybe you don't even have to, sometimes moms are just smart like that. You can let her notice herself when stuff starts disappearing out of her medicine cabinet or you can bring it up like your really happy because you got your period, being giddy about it covers up your embarrassment. But your mom has ben through it so many times now it won't seem embarrassing to her, so just bring it up, she'll understand. [ MeadowLark's advice column | Ask MeadowLark A Question ]
