Ambix3 answered Tuesday August 23 2005, 10:45 pm: I would just take another one just to be sure. Something in the water ( like the chemicals ) might have changed something. Good luck with everything!
jj_u_i_c_y answered Tuesday August 23 2005, 9:15 pm: well the only way to know for sure is go to the doctors or cliniche. of your over 16 im pretty sure there is doctor pacient confidanciality [i dont know how to spell].
karenR answered Monday August 22 2005, 11:23 pm: You are probably right. If you want a more accurate reading you should probably retake the test. Hope the results are the same. :) [ karenR's advice column | Ask karenR A Question ]
IHaveHelp answered Monday August 22 2005, 12:40 pm: don't worry- just relax, instead of just tricking yourself into thinking your not pregnant, you should just be safe and take another one- good luck- [ IHaveHelp's advice column | Ask IHaveHelp A Question ]
TheOldOne answered Monday August 22 2005, 9:21 am: Everyone else has already told you this, but testing the toilet water would only tell you if your toilet was pregnant. :D
Seriously, the test in the toilet water was totally inaccurate. You'll need to take the test again. Please read the directions carefully and follow them.
bound_heart gave you some very good information, but I'll just add one more point: if you want to take the test by peeing in a cup, make sure that it's a CLEAN cup. If it was in a dishwasher, rinse it out at the tap to get rid of any soap residue and dry it (preferably with paper towels).
GroovyChick answered Monday August 22 2005, 5:22 am: Try another test but try doing it right. nurses, doctors could give you info on how to do it. Pregnancy tests can be wierd. 1 could say opositive, the other negative, but you would just have to take another. hope i helped. [ GroovyChick's advice column | Ask GroovyChick A Question ]
bound_heart answered Monday August 22 2005, 12:45 am: You're going to have to take the test again, sorry.
Also, you don't have to pee on the stick. You can pee in a cup and dip the stick into your sample. There should be directions included with the test that tell you how long to dip the stick for.
Good luck,
bound
Edited to add: My husband and I started trying to conceive in January of this year. When March came around and it should have been my time of the month, but wasn't, I took a home pregnancy test. Included with the test was directions of how to pee in a cup instead of on the stick. I used this method because I didn't think I could have managed to hit the stick without getting a bit too messy for my tastes.
The test came up positive, as did the one I took the next day... just to make sure. A few days later the doc confirmed the positive results.
Peeing into the cup then dipping the stick, really isn't any different from holding the stick in your urine stream.
babiigurl076 answered Sunday August 21 2005, 11:47 pm: we all have our moments..don't worry about that..I wouldn't go straight to assuming that it came out negative..get another test just to be safe..there might be chemicals in the water that could've effected it. hope I helped! FunnyCide answered Sunday August 21 2005, 11:23 pm: The water in the toilet will dilute any hormones that would have been present till they're too weak to show up. That readout is not reliable. Get a new test and take the cap off. :-)

XSugarPieX77 answered Sunday August 21 2005, 11:22 pm: How old are you? Anyways, of course it would come out negative, it is toilet water lol. Get a new test, and take the cap off next time hun.Good Luck!

MFS answered Sunday August 21 2005, 11:15 pm: yeah - you can't trust that result. Consider the toilet water an infinite dilution, so any hormone that could have given a positive response is going to be too weak in concentration to give the response. [ MFS's advice column | Ask MFS A Question ]
