YES it is 100% neccessary for a woman to go to a gynocologist... What they do to you is not really that big of a deal. I don't see why every one makes it out to be one. The only thing that it is, is very uncomfortable. That's all. They put a clamp inside of you, and they crank it open so that they can see your cervix.. then they scrape the inside of you with a q-tip, and a lil' wooden thing. It is not that horrible. It is just VERY uncomfortable. That is all... You have nothing to worry about. I sugguest that you go if your having sex...

Is it 100% absolutely necessary? If you're not sexually active, then no. However, it is recommended that women over the age of 20, sexually active or not, should go in for regular gynecological check-ups, especially a Pap smear, which detects abnormal cervical cells, which could help detect the early stages of cervical cancer. The gynecologist is basically a "women's diseases specialist". They're trained like regular medical doctors, but they emphasize women's common diseases. They can recommend birth control, answer any sexual questions you may have and offer pointers on keeping yourself healthy as a woman. If you are a virgin, tell your gyno - one of the things they do is perform an internal exam (ever see movies where there's a woman on a bed-like thing with stirrups? Those are used in an internal exam) and if you're a virgin (never had sex) it may be painful.

It is neccesary if you think you have problems with your period or if you think you have some kind of infection, yes, it is neccesary.

The only thing they do is have you take off your panties and spread your legs. (This may seem embarassing... it was for me when I had it done and yes, I had it done twice!) and they take a cutip or something and swab at it. Then, they look at it under a microscope and they can tell it you have a disease/infection. It's not that bad. It's a lot less bad than it seems! You'll be surprised. P.S. If it helps any, ALL gynocologists are girls so you shouldn't be TOO embarassed. They do that EVERY day, even really big ladies and just imagine having to do that! She's not going to think anything of you. Don't be nervous.

You can email me questions in my inbox or at x_pink_x109@yahoo.com anytime you want if you have any.

Best of luck!

Hope I helped!

You have to go to a GYN before you will be perscribed the birth control pill.

You have to go if you ever have children since they are the doctors that help with that.

I suppose of you never have children or get on the pill it isn't 100% necessary if you aren't concerned with cervical cancer and the like.

Check out this site. It has a lot of information on GYN visits it might help alleviate some of your fears. :)

It's not 100% neccessary maybe about 99.9% neccessary. I had to go there for this dickhead to stick his fucking grody fingers in my *busy spot* and let him stick something up me to check for cancer. It's also a place where you can have a baby delivered, check out if you have any signs for any STD's and if so you got to get blood drawn. Hope I helped.

This is actually a really good questions and I am glad someone asked it. As a nursing student I have found in my studies that it is absolutely necessary for a woman to go to the gynocologist. For those of you who said its "only for someone who is sexually active" you couldn't be more wrong. Attending a gynocologist is important not only for sexually related female issues but the gynocologist makes sure that you don't have any other issues with your female reproductive organs such as infections or cancer or anything like that. Its a good idea when a girl is in her teenage years to start visiting a gynocologist regularly. In many cases the gynocologist will give you a clean bill of health and may tell you that you don't need to come back for a 6 months to a year or in some cases only if you have questions or a problem. For a woman going to the gynocologist should become like going to a dentist appointment or any other doctor's appointment, a regular practice even if it is at times uncomfortable. I hope that this has helped.

you dont really really NEED to go unless you are sexually active...

if you are then you prolly should because you could have ovarian cancer or whatever...not like you caught it or anything but i can began to develop... but if you havent its that big of a deal that you go now...

you just have to put your feet in stirrups and they stick a metal thing so they can look around up inside of you.. that's basically it.

Yes it is absoulutely 100% neccessary to go... Usually the age is 18 to start going.. but once you become sexually active you should go. I just recently went.. and what they do is check for a cancer that can come from being sexually active.. But. if you go when you become sexually actice to get this checkup they can detect this cancer and it is very cureable because its just a virus you and your partner pass back and forth. This is what my doctor told me. They just check for that cancer and a couple stds... It's painless.... It's nothing to worry about... I was very nervous my first time going too... But after going through it... It was nothing... Just the fact a girl doctor was looking down there was a little weird...

Hope This Helps... Good Luck.. If You Want To Know Anything Else. Drop One In My Inbox...

Good Luck
