another stupid period question Alright, first some background info. Im 16 and im a virgin, never done anything sexual with a guy. Ok now..my period is a week late for some reason and my mom is freaking out and asking me if ive gotten it like every 2 or 3 hours. Recently i have really cut back on like really fatty food, ive started running about a mile and half 2 or 3 times a week, and i started a job..which is a bit stressfull at times. Those things can make it come late right? Ive also felt like ive been going to get it, sore boobs, wicked bad cramps, headache that wont go away no matter if i take tylenol or not. I want to stop freaking out...so if you guy know anything that can help me out or at least help me chill my mom out..that would be fabulous. Thanks in advance.

stressfull<<< when ur stressed out ur period wll be out of balanced. trust me i no doctors've told me. do some medatating, spas, yoga...good luck. ]
Ok well I wouldn't worry periods can be like that. My cousin was like that hers skipped a month before and she liked eating fatty foods but then the next month she got like 2 but then she was fine. Your periods rn't going to be right on track all the time. It's nothing to be worried about!
Hope I Helped :) ]
Well just calm down. Its normal for girls to be late on it....as long as ur not seually active you have nothing to worry about. n if your still not statisified with that go to a docotr n theyll check you out ]
Your stress is a big factor here, it can even make you skip a period, so my best guess is that's what's going on. Also, if you're in the first 2-3 years of getting your period, it can still be irregular and take a while to even out. The running and change in diet can definitely make it come late as well. Don't worry, even if you skip it this month there's probably nothing wrong. But if you skip it next month as well, you should go see your doctor. Hope this helps!

Dietary changes, exercise changes, and stress can all make your period late or sometimes not even come at all.
Direct your mom to the webpage below. It has information on what can cause amenorrhea (no periods). I think she'll find it quite informative, especially if she's noticed you're dieting, exercising more, and under some stress.

I think it is a little strange that your mother needs to be so informed about your monthly flow. She sounds a little too controling. Besides that, I don't think you have much to worry about. It is VERY common for younger girls to have irregular periods. Changes in your diet, excersise, enviorment, and stress can all effect your period as well. All of which you are experiancing. It's no wonder you are late. Stop stressing, and tell your mother to get off your back. ]
Yeah, if your stressed that can make you late. Also if your stressing about being late it adds to the stress level and might make you later. ]
ok so u have a job and stress can make it come late it only rly ever happened to me once (my monthly visitor coming late) you need to slow down and not run as much..yea its good to exersise but make sure you are getting a lot of fluid in you body! maybe you should take a day at least a day out or the week and have a cup of tea maybe you should watch a good movie.. thats always helps me!
i hope i helped and please keep me posted!!

You'll be fine. Since you havent done anything sexual with a guy, theres really nothing to worry about. You might want to get birth control pills they will make your periods regular. You will probably get it soon considering all the syntoms [sp?] you have been getting. Good Luck ♥//ALMA ]
First of all, all of those things can make your period late or irregular, so CHILL! And if your mom's that worried that it's late, you need to get put on Birth Control. Then it will become a lot more regular.

An increased level of exercise can make a difference in your period. So can losing weight. In fact, if you lose *enough* weight, your period will probably stop altogether.
But losing that much weight is dangerous; it's a sign that you are much too thin, and is usually associated with anorexia or bulemia. I assume that you have neither.
Stress is yet another factor that can have an effect on your period.
Sore or tender breasts are a common sign of pregnancy, but since you're a virgin, we'll rule that out. :D
A week is not *terribly* late, but it IS unusual. Given the headaches, cramps, and soreness you've described, I think it would be wise to give your doctor a call. My best guess is that you're simply under a lot of stress, but you really don't want to rely on the guess of someone who writes free advice online when your health is potentially at stake.
Take the time, and see your doctor. Better safe than sorry.
Good luck! ]
all the new exercise work outs and the stressful job have probably messed with your cycle.
