I have a problem with spots, mainly on my chin, nose and forehead (T-zone?).
I also have large pores + blackheads on those areas.
Anything anyone can recommend to help with the problem?

Then before touching your face, splash ice cold water on your face, this closes your pores. Do this everynight for two weeks and no more blackheads.

after taking a shower or after steaming your face, pop your blackheads and get the white thing out. this way wont scar your face as much as just popping them when your pores arent open
for your pores:
you can use an astringent from Biore, I dont know how well it works, but it says that it helps to tighten your pores, dry up your pimples, and get rid of blackheads. you can also go to bath and body works and buy the Neem mask. it's supposed to help make your pores smaller, and the mask also won an award from allure magazine
for your spots:
I dont kno what you mean by "spots".. are you talking about pimples or.. just dark spots from past pimples. you can get rid of dark spots by using Neutrogena Visibly Even Moisturizer with SPF 15, it works great!
if you're talking about pimples, try clearasil ultra face wash. a really good way to make your pimples smaller is by using an astringent after washing your face with water, and then applying a spot treatment or acne cream.
if you're on a low budget, you can try Queen Helene Mint Julep Mask. I just bought it at target for 1.99, and it says that it helps to minimize your pores, clear your acne and blackheads, I havent used it yet, but I've heard that it works really well.
if money is not a problem, then you should really give Proactiv a try. it cleared my blackheads and pimples, although I still get a pimple every now and then, it's not something a spot treatment can't get rid of.
baby_girl33 answered Tuesday July 26 2005, 4:37 pm: I have also had this problem in the past.
First of all you need to know what not to use. One is alcohol or anything with alchol as a main ingredient (First four on the back of bottle) Because alcohol strips the top layer of your skin off. Your skin, tries to repair itself ny making more oil which causes more spots. Also, wear only make up that is non-comodegenic AND oil free.
Now, what to use. Noxzema "Continuous Clean" citrus formula works really good fro something cheap. I don't mean to sound cheezy, but I really think Proactiv can help anyone with pimples. For more info on how pimples form and stuff vist thier website www.proactiv.com It has alot of good info.
orphans answered Tuesday July 26 2005, 4:18 pm: use clearsil blackhead face wash. this works for me, plus if you buy some tcp (its an anticeptic - soz bout spelling lol) dab this over your spots once every 4 hours or so and it clears up spots really fast. if your face is really bad then perhaps you could go to the doctors and they might be able to recommend something for you type of skin. if you find that face washes etc dont work there is a new herbal tablet out that helps fight spots-you can buy this at local chemists and places like boots or superdrug. hope i helped

-Go see a dermatologist and ask if he would recommend and perscribe a TOPICAL CREAM or GEL with benzol peroxide (sp) in it. Ex: Retin A Micro.
-Make sure take off all your make up before you go to bed. Studies have shown that not washing your face just one night sets your skin back 2 months.
-Try using an astringant to also clean your face (besides water and a wash cloth) Ex: Sea Breeze
-Try getting out as many of the blackheads out as you can. Use your two index fingers to "sqeeze" them out.
-If you have many that are on the surface, and not deep down into the pores, you could use something like Biore Strips
-And lastly, you may want to try getting an Acne Treatment facial. You can get these done at a salon near you. During this they cleanse your whole face, and take out any blackheads. However, these are costly. About 60-80 dollars.
