Shopaholic_Hunni06 answered Monday August 1 2005, 7:15 pm: I am not sure but it could be because its hot. My grandmother's cat did something similar..like her toungue was kinda out. It is most likely the heat. Don't worry hun. If you are really worried tho take her/him to the vet.

xo_dream answered Friday July 15 2005, 1:56 am: take him to the vet asap, just to make sure he's alright .. he could just be warm [ & if he overheats that's a problem in itself ], but you don't want to take any chances. i hope he's alright! [ xo_dream's advice column | Ask xo_dream A Question ]
IndieKidsCanRock answered Thursday July 14 2005, 3:09 pm: ♥Take your cat to the vet. I'm dead serious, take him/her now. My cat did this exact same thing and then died the night after. The vet said it was because too many fluids entered his lungs. Please take him to the vet, I hate when animals die. Also, I don't want to scare you, but if you don't take him as soon as possible it might be too late. We didn't get my cat to the vet on time. Good luck, give lots of love to your cat. Nyx answered Thursday July 14 2005, 9:29 am: When felines get over worked, or extremely hot they pant, just like dogs do. I've seen it many times after I've played with my cats(getting them to run after a string to fast too long), or when it's really hot in the house. They are just out of breath or finding it hard to breath at these times, and need to pant to get enough oxygen. Now, it isn't like regular dog panting with their toung hanging all the way out flopping around... but sometimes their little toungs do stick out and curl upwards a little.
By the sounds of it, your cat is just extremely hot... they like to lay on tiles, and glass when it's hot because those surfaces are much cooler than carpet or blankets. Make sure your cat has plenty of cool water, perhaps get some fans going in your house if you don't have AC.
And keep an eye on him. If his behavior changes dramatically(like if he has a hard time using the potty box, or if he seems to be experiencing pain when walking, or when you pick him up) call the vet right away and explain the situations to them. When I lost my little girl she would only move five feet before laying down again. She would whine and cry in pain. And whenever I picked her up she would cry. Cats are like children to us... we don't ever want to see them in pain or discomfort, but there is very little you can do about the heat. Give your little man my love.

barbiedollx answered Wednesday July 13 2005, 9:27 pm: My cat does the same thing just try and get him to drink cool water and get him in the AC if possible and also let him lay on the bathroom floor, the tiles cool them off [ barbiedollx's advice column | Ask barbiedollx A Question ]
AskAndy answered Wednesday July 13 2005, 8:12 pm: Send him to the vet. If they have no solutions besides putting him to sleep, you may want to keep him in a cool area, play with him often, and feed it healthy food. [ AskAndy's advice column | Ask AskAndy A Question ]
