Kitten needs a name.
ok i have a kitten and i sound really stupid when i say this but i don't know if it is a boy or girl.Some people say its a girl some say its a boy and i need to find a name for it. I tried to look at the thing but i can't tell it looks like it could be both atm.I thought maybe i could tell from the tits it has 8 tits! Does anyone know if a male cat has the same number of tits please could someone help.Thank Youxx

well for one thing.. i don't think male dogs have tits.. and for another thing.. i have seen a girl dog.. she has eight.. i think it is safe to say the dog is a girl

if i were in the same position you are in then i would ask someone you know that knows a lot about cats. and if that doesnt work then i would give the kitten a name that goes with both a boy and a girl. here are some ideas~

You could take it to a vet to have it sexed, although that might be a little expensive. If you have a family friend or a relative who's a vetrinarian, maybe you can have them look at him/her.

Not you of course. This is actually a perfectly logical question to ask about a kitten. They can be quite tricky sometimes :)

Are you serious? Go look at the cute neighbor mowing his lawn without his shirt on. Does he have nipple?
ALL MALES HAVE NIPPLES.
It's stupid to assume that cats are any different.
You can't tell what the sex of the kitten is by how many nipples.
Anyway, you basically need to wait to see whether or not his balls drop. If he's a male, then you'll soon see them. If not, then it's got to be a girl. By the third month, you should be able to see at least a small portion of two little balls, if not, then you most likely have a female.

male and female cats both have nipples..so it could be either one. why dont you take it to the vet to find out what it is? he/she would know for sure then you can name it!

No, both male and female cats have nipples. The other advisors are incorrect. You have to lift up his/her tail, and look directly beneath his/her butt h*le, and if you see two little dots or spots or bumps below it... side by side, then it is a boy. If you don't see anything, then it is a girl. It if is a long haired cat then I wish you luck. Either way, when it is about 6 months, you should take it to the vet to have it neutered or spayed so you won't have a lot of little kittens running around.

The method I use for my pets is to pick a word or something that I think describes some aspect of it, and find a language that word sounds like an appropriate name in. Like a small dog named 'Chibi', which is 'small' in Japanese.
This can be used to find a name that doesn't depend on gender.
