How can tampons kill you?
Hi i'm 13 years old and my mom said that I can not use a tampon until I break my hymen or have sex but she said if i have sex she will kick me out of the house and my mom said that i could kill my self if i use a tampon how do you kill yourself with a tampon and do you have to break your hymen to use a tampon cause most of my friends use them.

No you don't got to break your hymen before you use a tampon and yes tampons can kill you it is called TSS and know one has died from TSS in a while so I think it would be alright.

well first of all you cant kill urself from using a tampon. you can get TSS though which is very seroius and can make you seriously ill but you omly get it if you leave the tampon in for long periods of time but its very rare that people get that. and yea your hymen can be broken from using a tampon but it can be broken doing vigarous exersice like gymnastics or riding a bike or a horse but its nothing to worry about. i mean after all its only a really thin layer of like skin so its easily broken. if you jusy tell your mum that you've found out about it because you were serious about wanting to use them. im sure she'll understand if you explain it to her.

First of all, you can't kill yourself by using a tampon. You can get TSS, but that happens when you leave the tampon in for a long period of time and most girls never EVER do that. When you use a tampon, you break your hymen. It's also been said that you can break your hymen by riding a bike! You should talk to your Mom and tell her the facts. Just be like, Hey, Mom, I think I am old enough to use a tampon and I know not to leave it in for a long time. Your Mom might even be stressing that you're growing up. It's always possible, but you aren't going to die from using a tampon.

it is not possible to kill yourself by using a tampon.lol.there is a disease though called tss and it is VERY serious.But that only happens when u dont change it as often as your supose to. and you dont have to have sex before using a tampon.I used them before i had sex and there great :) and i nevr even had sex..:( but you can break ur hymen by lotz of things not just sex.Tell your mom all the facts and prove them and then just ask her again nicely.Hope i helped.

You can't really kill yourself with a tampon. You can get TSS, but that's only if you leave your tampon in for a really long time, which most people are smart enough not to do. The first time you use a tampon, it usually breaks the hymen which is painful. After a while, you get used to it. Tell your mom that you want to use a tampon and you understand that she thinks you're too young, but you'd like to at least try it to see if you would want to wear them.

Hi, I have the answer to your question. Your mom is wrong. You do not have to break your hymen or have sex to be able to use a tampon. Tampons are a very safe way to just take care of.. well you know! Tampons are very small, and easy to use and they wont harm you unless you leave it in for a very long time.. say 8 hours. Also maybe your mother is worried about you getting TSS (toxic shock syndrome). This is very rare, but can be deadly. I highly doubt that you would ever get this. So maybe you should try talking to your mom about 'why' you would want to use them. Say maybe sports.. or that they are easy to use. Hope this helps!

I never heard of such a thing lol killing yourself? maybe your mom is just telling you that so that you wont use them. I started to use them before I had sex they are way much better then PADS:) all i did was read the directions and just tryed it myself.Hope I helped rate me.

Hye yes you can get a disease and it is really bad if you cath it,.its called tss.pads are much easier to use.

2. you break your heymen during sex, or by daily things, like riding a bike, or playing a sport! also, they can break by using a tampon,but it isnt a bad thing.
3.TSS its something shock syndrom, it happens if you leave a tampon in for too long, like for over 8 hours. most of the time, they are filled up long before that, and if they arnt, then you are using to high of an absorbancy. TSS was a result of a tampon, that is no longer made, and you cannot find or purchase it anywhere, it was made so that you would not have to change your tampon for a whole day, or even two days. having that inside of you for that long caused(s) TSS. now, on all tampon boxes, it says that you should change them either every 4-6 or 6-8 hours!

actually there is a gap at the edge of the hymen in which you can insert a tampon, you cant kill yourself as there is no-where really for the tampon to o, just make sure you change them regualrly so you dotn get toxic shock syndrome, but thats really rare.

It is possible for tampons to lead to death due to something called TSS (Toxic Shock Syndrome). However, this is very rare so by using a tampon you aren't in any way instantly giving yourself a death sentence. You don't have to break your hymen to use a tampon, a lot of girls break their hymens by using tampons. Your mother is being slightly over cautious here, it is very rare to get TSS as you only really have a risk of getting it if you leave your tampon in for longer than 24 hours. Sports such as running and horse riding can also break the hymen so you might want to try them.
