Hi i'm 13 years old and my mom said that I can not use a tampon until I break my hymen or have sex but she said if i have sex she will kick me out of the house and my mom said that i could kill my self if i use a tampon how do you kill yourself with a tampon and do you have to break your hymen to use a tampon cause most of my friends use them. Hi, I have the answer to your question. Your mom is wrong. You do not have to break your hymen or have sex to be able to use a tampon. Tampons are a very safe way to just take care of.. well you know! Tampons are very small, and easy to use and they wont harm you unless you leave it in for a very long time.. say 8 hours. Also maybe your mother is worried about you getting TSS (toxic shock syndrome). This is very rare, but can be deadly. I highly doubt that you would ever get this. So maybe you should try talking to your mom about 'why' you would want to use them. Say maybe sports.. or that they are easy to use. Hope this helps!
