I'm questioning my faith
i'm not sure what it was in the first place really
um... but I think i'm just kind of having a bit of a crisis, not sure where to turn
I come from a semi-Christian background
BuffaloGirl answered Friday July 8 2005, 2:17 pm: hummmmmmmmmm well if you really are questioning your faith then you should pray about it & ask God to show a way
GodRockz91 answered Friday July 8 2005, 12:44 pm: Faith -Confident belief in the truth, value, or trustworthiness of a person, idea, or thing.
Belief that does not rest on logical proof or material evidence.
Loyalty to a person or thing; allegiance: keeping faith with one's supporters.
often Faith Christianity. The theological virtue defined as secure belief in God and a trusting acceptance of God's will.

Just pray about it, God will show you who you are in Christ,

tasuki answered Thursday July 7 2005, 8:47 pm: It's totally, totally okay to question yourself. Even when you are much older, you probably won't know where you are in life. It's okay to experiment with your religion. You can try out some Wicca stuff, Christian things, Buddhism, Judaism, etc. You can even take what you like from different religions and combine them into your own personal faith. You might find that you don't want to have a religion at all. Whatever you do is perfectly fine. Don't define yourself based on a religion...you are YOU, and no matter what you believe in you will ALWAYS be you. When it comes right down to it, that's all that really matters. Faith is spreading the word about God and his Good Will, Faith Is putting God before Everything. Pray My Friend Pray about your faith and ask the Lord to give you more faith and to help you with your struggles and to keep you on your feet. If you need someone to talk to Ill Be here For you
Punk*Rock*Prep99 answered Wednesday June 15 2005, 1:48 pm: That happened to me too. I questioned it for a while then i realized, "You know what? If you think about it, how can god be real?" so now I am an atheist and I honestly think that you are better off with NO religion because i mean, whats the point? Prayer never helped me. I prayed for my grandpa not to die and now he has been in the ground for almost 5 years now. My honest oppinion is being religious is a waste of your time. You can find better things to do. Hope I helped! -|-PRP-|- [ Punk*Rock*Prep99's advice column | Ask Punk*Rock*Prep99 A Question ]
RhetoricalLives answered Friday June 10 2005, 4:56 am: Well, you should definently find out more about each religion you want to consider. If you come from achristian background and somewhat go along with that, you may want to Check out Scientology, Pagan, Agnostic, Atheist, or Druidry..these are somewhat close to Christianity in a way. Or you can go out on a limb and try anything other, or Metaphsics and view all religions at once. Here, on about.com there are basic breifs on every religion possible under the Religion/Spirituality tab :) If you need more just ask! -Kevin Smith (which he may have taken that from somehwhere, but he is the one who exposed me to it originally)
Don't let people tell you what religion to join, there are plenty of options and they are all based on what you believe. I suggest studying different kinds of religions. If you have a lot of varying churches in your town (you know, more than just christian) I suggest you visit each and try to learn what you can. Its natural for everyone to question their faith at one time or another. No one can be quite sure what is true, we only lead our lives based on assumptions. It doesn't matter if you are a christian, jew, athiest, wiccan or whatever, as long as you believe in it, then its plenty fine.
Although, if you become a satanist, then I sincerely hope you end with untimely fortune for your unneeded ignorance.
XxSwEeTtArTxX answered Sunday June 5 2005, 12:32 pm: you probably need to start looking into your religion and finding out what it's all about so that you can find out what you should do. just be strong and everything will become clear. have faith that this will work, no matter how long it takes, and you'll find your faith in Christ.
Mackenzie answered Saturday June 4 2005, 4:40 am: If you'Re Really that conceRned about this, peRhaps you should just go to the libRaRy and Read up on some diffeRent Religions??

x_mystery answered Friday June 3 2005, 5:45 pm: I'm having the same problem..and I really don't know what to do either
Whats been working for me...is just try to live your life without thinking about your faith for a while..then maybe you'll understand it more, if you don't think it has to be involved in everything you do. [ x_mystery's advice column | Ask x_mystery A Question ]
Vassalisa answered Friday June 3 2005, 2:02 pm: When you're at a point where you aren't sure what you believe anymore, you need to take some time by yourself, and work it out without other people influencing you. Try reading books, writing, listening to music - anything that makes you connect to the 'real' you. Then listen to yourself. [ Vassalisa's advice column | Ask Vassalisa A Question ]
BrokenWings answered Friday June 3 2005, 11:50 am: If you wernt quite sure what your faith was before, how can you question it? I would just not worry about it, and you will realise after a while if you are religious or not, its not really a big deal, its just a matter of sorting things out in your head, finding out what things you beleive, and what is nonsense.
