i have a lot of trouble getting to sleep. i can't switch off wheni go to bed and i feel tired a lot of the time. I have tried cutting out caffiene, herbal sleeping tablets and all the obvious things and nothing works. can you help

I also have trouble sleeping. It's common, so don't worry. I always try to do something calming like read, take a warm bath, or listen to soft, calming music before you go to bed. Make sure you are comfortable. It is hard enough to be too hot, or on a lumpy matress and get a nice night's rest.

If this doesn't work talk to your doctor. There are sleeping pills that may work for you.

i would recommend, if possible, getting to bed earlier. if u feel tired, take some time off on weekends you are free to revive. also, take some days of work/school to get more sleep. one or two days a month will help greatly. Here are some other ideas:
-find a spot you are comfortable in. make sure you are the right tempature and you are comfy.

-don't drink any caffiene on some days to make sure you don't have it in your system at night. (you can still have caffiene, though!)

-Read a book before you go to bed to calm you. never excersise before bed, do something calm.

if none of this works, you may have mono or something, so talk to your doctor, or you could just be not a night person.

listen to soft music and always think of what you did that day, like retrace your steps it'll get u thinking about things and then you'll feel better, or watch TV before you go to sleep that will make u tired, do some excercise at the gym late that way you'll be tired, or take a hot bath, it relaxes you, tell me if it helps-tennis totally

try taking a warm bath before bed, maybe a little exersice right before bed to get you a little more tired, turn the clock the other way when you go to sleep so you wont keep staring st it. make sure you are dressing comfortably and make sure your not to hot or cold. hope this helps a little and good luck!

try and run around as much as you can during the day. the more energetic you are during the day, the more tired you'll be at night. and, as ironic as it may sound- energy drinks (preferably red bull)might help you out. they contain some kind of chemical that speeds you up, but slows you down later on. by drinking one about 3 hours before you fall asleep, you should have all your energy gone, an youll have no choice but to fall asleep. good luck, and sweet dreams.

When you cant sleep is called isomnia. make a usual bedtime, so your body can get used to the time and relax more. If you dont have an official bedtime and just sleep whenever you want, u can tend to get sleepy and grouchy in the morning and not sleep as well. also, you might have a lot of things on your mind. something bothering you? maybe you really need to fix it so you can have a good night's sleep! hope i helped ya! xox*thinkpink*xox

well stop eating...dont eat anything and dont drink anything for like a few days...then you will have like no energy and collapse and fall asleep...then you will be in the hospital where they will probably hook you up to a ton of tubes and put you on some medication that makes you sleep a lot...that will catch you up on the sleep you're missing

ok,turn your lights off when you sleep,it helps. Then,get in bed 1 hour earlyer. you can also take a hot bath [[it sooths you]]. Reading a book is also good to do for 30 mins. Turn your tv down low [[volume]] well i hope i helped good luck!

You are too young most likely to be taking herbal sleeping pills, not to mention they are NOT FDA approved and there could be serious side effects.

Before bed, do not watch TV within 30 min or play on the computer or any games. This will only alert your eyes that it is time to be awake. Read a book or take a hot bath to relax your body, or drink warm milk.

there are pills for that, you could have diabetes(sp) because sometimes you cant sleep. but i dought you have it.dont eat before you go to bed like dont eat 3 hours til you sleep

Dont watch tv a hour before going to sleep. Have a walm milky drink before going to bed. Just read for a bit and it makes you tired. You can get these tablets that are for 12 and over. They are ment to help you sleep.

hi there,
well the normally hours of sleep anyone should be getting is 8 hours
try taking some herbal tea or horlick, what about aromaterapy oils, having a bubble bath before bed time also try drinking lots of water before bed time
