You can be both. A person can be any thing they want, as long as your not going to pratice black magic and any religion.

You can't really be a Wiccan AND a Christian, because they're two seperate religions. (Yes, Wiccanism is a religion) Now, you could of course find a third religion, or found one for that matter.

But doesn't anyone else think it's odd tht you'd be a Wiccan before a Christian?

Well its either one or the other you have to chose good or bad and fix the situation you are in. If you wanna be a christian than stop doing the witch thing and think about going to church and you might want to stop hanging out with the people you are hanging with. Good luck

Missa8305 answered Wednesday May 4 2005, 8:45 pm:
First, I would simply like to state that you aren't going to find a clear answer on this website. (Or anywhere else for that matter.) It's the nature of your question. All the Christians are going to say that you should repent and follow one path, their path. All of the open-minded people are going to tell you to do what you feel is best. And the atheists, well...They'll just tell you not to worry about it because there is no such thing as God :P And so, you'll end up just being more confused than you all ready are.

My advice: stop asking other people what to believe. All religions agree on at least one principle: that the creator (whoever or whatever it might be) gave you a free will. That free will was given to you so that you may choose your own path in this life. There are many paths in this world? Which one is the right one? Can you only follow one?

Contrary to whatever people may say, no one really knows for sure. We won't until we're dead, and then it will be far too late to tell the world about what we've learned. All we can do in this lifetime is BELIEVE.

Ultimately, what you believe is YOUR choice and no one else should have a say in the matter. You must choose your path. If you feel inclined to choose more than one, well you have the will to do that. Remember, it is your God given right to do whatever you want with your life.

Oh...And I would just like to mention...The belief that witchcraft is evil...Comes from a scripture in the Old Testament. Some scholars believe that this was originally written to discredit the older religions that were founded before the Jewish religion was born. Could be. Certainly gave a lot of Christians an excuse to persecute people who were still creater by the creator and who's lives should still be respected as valuable.

Not trying to bash Christianity either :) I believe in Christ too, and I respect a lot of his teachings. My opinion is...I think he's probably mortified that we're killing each other in his name, and so busy arguing about religion and rules that we've forgotten that the reason religion was invented is so that the creator and the creation could have a relationship together.

Dear Wiccan-
I myself am wiccan, and I do the same thing. it is not my intention to be christian, I already am. It's okay to be both, but according to the Bible, it's not. But see the thing is, you're not a demon or anything for doing this, you're just human. Just do whatever you feel comfortable with. if it's christ, then christ. if not, then wicca. but if you like both the same, do both. do whateveryou feel is true to you and your heart. I'll be here for you. Good luck! and Blessed be!

I have read some of the advice on here and to be honest I am a little worried about what some people are telling you. God will forgive those who take him and his son into their heart and realize God as the true and only savior. Wiccan and Christianity are complete opposites. I can speak with certainty because at one time I had tampered with and studied Wiccan. Thankfully, I was saved before I plunged too far into it, I hope that I can help save others from its grasp. Wiccan was a school of thought developed in the 60's by a man named Gerald Gardener. It was meant to be an earth-based, peaceful, feminist friendly religion. Problem is that it does have Pagan principles and foundations. No matter what anyone has told you there is no mixing of Wiccan and Christianity. It has to be either one or the other. God does not accept witchcraft and spells, they are considered to be the work of the Devil, he understands that the Devil can take his grasp on you and fool you into following his ways. That is why he can forgive you, and if you have realized your mistakes, come back to him and repel the Devil’s temptations you will be closer to him. I am not saying Wiccans are evil, I think they have just been misguided. I am also not saying that my religion is the only religion. You may choose to believe whatever you want, but I believe that my God is the only God and I will surrender myself to him. Back to your other questions, the God(s) a Wiccan prays to isn’t the same God a Christian prays to. Prayer and spells are not the same at all either, a spell is trying to ask or force your will on or for something. Christian prayer is surrendering yourself to God and his son and realizing that only he can save you. God is forgiving and can and will forgive you for being Wiccan up to this point in time. But you have had a sign, a chance to come back into his love, light and grace. I am not telling you what to believe but please heed what I say. God hasn't turned his back on you and he won't, but don't turn your back on him. He is calling you back to him, and back to into everything that he encompasses. I know what happened to me and why I turned down the path of Wicca and I know what it took to bring me back into God’s light. I really don’t think that I need to air out my personal life on here for everyone to read. But if you want to know what happened or talk to someone about this or anything else for that matter then please feel free to AIM me (StikyNoteRightr). Good luck and please keep me posted!

First of all, the most important thing to know is that God loves you! He loves each and every person on this earth, regardless of anything we ever do, say, or think.

That said, are you stupid for trying to be both Wiccan and Christian? No

Do you have to be one or the other? Yes.

Being a Christian means accepting Jesus as your lord and savior. It means stating that you believe God sent Jesus to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and you want to accept this gift of eternal life by confessing all your sins.

Being a Christian doesn't mean you now have to live a perfect lifestyle. It doesn't mean you have to give up all your friends, join a church, give away all your belongings and travel through the wilderness, or anything else anyone tells you you *have* to do. The whole point of Christianity is that you will no longer be punished for your sins- God has wiped the slate clean.

On the other hand, just because the slate is clean does not give you permission to do whatever you want. There are many verses in the Bible that describe the life that a child of God should live. Now, living for God will not get to heaven any sooner, but it will make the journey more enjoyable. Because what could bring more joy than living for the all-powerful, all-wonderful God who created you and loves you beyond all imagination?

My advice for you is to find some Christian mentors. Friends, a pastor, adults, just find someone in your life who cares about you and who can help you in your new walk with God. For more information and encouragement about separating your Wiccan lifestyle from your new Christian one, try Google searching for a (legit) Christian teen website. I know Brio magazine has done articles on Witchcraft before, that would be a good place to start. (here's a link to the article: [Link](Mouse over link to see full location) )

I know this probably sounds very discouraging to you right now, but know that I type this with the best of intentions. I'll be praying for you, and I hope you can find peace, joy, and love in Christ. Remember, Jesus loves you more than you can even imagine. And nothing you have ever done, are doing, or can ever do will change this. God Bless!

Ok, just do what you really wanna do. You can believe in God, and you can still practice wicken too... if you want to. But dont force yourself to do something or be someone you dont want to be. If you still want to be a witch-go ahead and keep on being a witch. But if you want to be cristian, go ahead and be christian too. Just follow your heart, and again, dont be anyone you dont want to be!

Aww, I wanted to go to Aquire the Fire but I didnt end up going. But to answer your question, you cannot be both! In the bible God says you cannot worship two things at the same time. Either you worship and serve him, or you worship the other thing(In your case, being wiccan). It's your choice...serve what you want..but you cant do both. I will pray for you and hope you decide to become 100% christian ! good luck..

Erinn_the_bamf answered Wednesday May 4 2005, 6:31 pm:
Most people would say it is aganist the church to be a witch. However, if you want to be both be both. God forgives and understands. If you are faithful to Him but still want to practice your pervious religion He will support you. He loves Jews, Gentles, and in your case Wiccans. You just need to find a way to come to an understanding with Him. Pray for a while and see what you find. Possibly talk to a local Priest or Rervern (sp?). They can help you find where you want to be in worship. However, if none of this works you must chose. Look at both views. Choose the one that you believe you are truly faithful to. If worse comes to worse and you must chose God or whatever witches you worship in Wiccan (I'm sorry if that offended you I just am only faithful to God NO OFFENSE TO YOUR BEILF) will still love you. I hope I helped! ♥ good luck

You are not stupid for doing both. Your belief is your choice, do whatever you like. Feel free to experiment with different religions. Some people like one aspect of a religion but don't like other aspects, so they take what they like out of several different belief structures and combine them. The wonderful thing about Wicca is, as a Pagan religion, there is no formal structure or dogma. Pagans basically do whatever they want, and there are many Christianity-based Pagans as well as Judaism-based Pagans and Buddhism-based Pagans. In fact, people say that Catholocism is extremely close to Wicca. Do whatever you like, it's YOUR decision.
