Since last night I have had a pain in my chest. It hurts just as and after I swallow, and whenever I take deep breaths. Sometimes I just feel the pain when I change posture or even move. It feels as though there is something there. The pain comes from right in the centre of my chest.
Does anybody have any idea what this could be?
If it helps I'm 14 and female!
All help appreciated!
Noo, seriously, there are a multitude of things. You could have the flu, bronchitis, asthma, or you've been laughing alot or just overworking your lungs. I have this often too, it may also have to do with your diet. See a doctor if it persists.

hottdancer134 answered Friday April 8 2005, 8:24 am: You might have some kind of a respiratory infection. You should see a doctor before it gets worse! Hope this helps and feel better!
BeautifulMadness answered Friday April 8 2005, 8:13 am: Hey,
You could have strained your intercostal muscles (the ones inbetween your ribs) or even bruised or fractured your ribs. There's nothing you can do for any of that other than to rest up as much as you can. Sit straight and try not to lean back because it will hurt to sit up. If you want to sit against the back of the chair, then move your whole body to the back of it, not just your back.
I don't want to scare you, but you could also have a collapsed lung. It's not that serious, honestly, but you really should get yourself checked out by a doctor just in case. They have re-inflate the lung if it is collapsed. It's really no big deal but it can be kinda dangerous if you don't get it sorted out soon. It probably isn't this but it's a possibility that you should get checked out.
On the other hand, it could be as simple as hayfever or asthma.
Good luck :)
Blessed Be,

xxxxxx answered Friday April 8 2005, 7:47 am: asthma could be a possibility, because you can aquire it at any time of your life. also, do you smoke? or do people in your house smoke? because my boyfriend NEVER smoked, and 3 people in his family smokes, and he suffers the same thing you're going through. you may need to take an inhaler... so ask your family and get checked out. If its none of these, you could be getting sick, like an upper respiratory disease (bronchitis, or something) which i had in the winte and it was really bad. i went to the doctor and got antibiotics, and 2 inhalers. either way, get checked out. IF YOU'RE WEEZING, IT'S MOST LIKELY THAT YOU ARE SICK. [ xxxxxx's advice column | Ask xxxxxx A Question ]
therocketsummer answered Friday April 8 2005, 7:41 am: I know this is what you probably don't want to hear, but see a doctor. You might have fluids down there and it might turn into pneumonia or the flu. That'd be yukky. SO let a doctor check it out he'll put you on some type of antibiotics. ♥ [ therocketsummer's advice column | Ask therocketsummer A Question ]
